What is the best shock absorber that absorbs all the shock without....falling off or hindering your play?

That's because this topic is brought up again and again. Custom damp is pretty good, just don't get the Babolat High Damp Vibration:

I tried it out, since it looks quite cool. What's better then the babolat logo? It damps a little, but will always fall off if you hit it - which is quite a pain. Sometimes I'll find it falling off and having to put it back on 3-4 times in a match; which is pathetic. I really like babolat, but they designed this for looks, rather then function. I still think the Rubberband is the best way to go.

According to the college coach, a dampener just stops the noise vibrations to make it sound better. Blha blah blah, makes sense.

I like the ShockBusters from Gamma... or the Yonex triangle dampeners.

I'd say go with the rubber band or the Sampras dampener. Neither one falls off easily...that is, unless you're a monstruous ball hitter.
Both the rubber band and the Sampras dampener get rid of the "pingy" sound, but at the same time, they give you a nice feel. So, they don't mute or kill everything, they just mute the bad sound, while keeping the nice original feel of the strings alive.

Yeah, I use a rubberband. And that's insane, tp, the longest I've lasted was about a week. It seems like the very first time I use it, it lasts a bit longer then after it's fallen off a few times.

The pete sampras one is really nice...it comes with 2 damps : red and black
I prefer the black, the red one is softer...
Or Babolat custom damps!!!anything with O shape

I believe Gasquet uses the black one while Monfils uses the red one...OR they could just be Home Depot cable grommets with paintjobs
