Sam wins. Cheers was a quality show. The other one not so good.

^ Ditto. Sam was the man and it'd be hard to top a show as well done as Cheers. How I met your mother had some clever writing for a short stint and when the writing went kaput, so did Barney's moxy.

Barney is the Lothario of How I Met Your Mother and is played by the grown-up Doogie Howser, Neil Patrick Harris. It is quite an acting job as NPH is openly gay and has been in a committed relationship with a guy named David for many years. They have twin children (from a surrogate). Wonder how that worked???

So, it's a landslide for Sam! On to the next round...Malone vs Charly Harper!

As a woman, I find Barney (Neil Patrick Harris' character on "How I Met Your Mother") very creepy-the girls he gets are probably desparate. I'd rather spend the night with Sam (Ted Danson's character on Cheers, a former pitcher for the Red Sox)-we could talk about his days in Major League Baseball, among other things. Ha ha!

Sam gets the nod because he continued his ways into middle age. Plus, his character was a former major league pitcher. No contest.

"Conversation" was never Sam's "out pitch"! Two things come to mind when the word "creepy" is associated with Sam/Ted...Ted in blackface with Whoopi and the hair fetish. I liked Danson much more as Becker...he carried that show!
