    Hi everyone,

I like a crisp/pop feel with plenty of power, what do you recommend?

    Thanks,
    Harry.

If you want something cheaper than the VS i find the Bowbrand guts to be pretty decent too.

You must try Luxilon Big Banger Ace 18 and Pro Supex BAM on it.

I use Mantis Power Poly mains, with Mantis Power Synthetic crosses. String it up at 62, and watch the magic happen...

I meant to suggest testing a full bed of each. For me, feel is where these thin gauges shine. If you like it extra crispy then go for de lux. Hopefully someone can suggest a thin poly comparable to bb ace that's easier on the wallet.

    I'd say I'm all-around no-courter.

The Lux is not crispy, they feel dead and dull right off the start (except M2). Will be even worse in a muted frame like the PT630. A nice crisp thin poly would be MSV Hex, or WeissCannon Turbotwist.

There you have it, me and MarratSafin came to an entirely different conclusion about the crispiness of BB Ace. What frame and tension did you try this string at that it felt dead and dull from the start? For me, this string felt so crisp that it may as well have been deep-fried in Crisco to a perfection.

You best test for yourself before you wreck yourself.

Yeah it is strange, I've seen many that claim Alu is dull and dead but most say Ace is crisp and lively, but for me it still feels dull. Maybe it's the frame. I tried it in a Prestige 600 and Kblade Tour, but the Blade itself is a muted frame. And maybe I made a mistake by crossing it with Alu Rough in the Prestige. I'll try it again, full bed in a Prestige this time.
