Are there any video tennis games that actually help your real tennis game. I tried Wii Tennis when it came out but found that the most effective way to win was actually just flicking the wrist rather than mimicking a real swing. Maybe it helped my reflexes a little but I soon gave it up. Now that the cool weather is here I wondered if there are any recommendations for tennis video games that might more closely resemble real tennis skills.

I play EA Sports Grand Slam Tennis on wii. It is great fun and has real players from past and present. You do have to use the controller to put the spin/slice/lob you want on the ball so you do have to think.

Top Spin 4 is the best in terms of realism I find. It's a real sim, not arcade like the EA sports or wii games.

I'm a fan of the Top Spin 4. It's actually challenging and you have a career out of it...not to mention that you won't be breaking any furniture with the controller.

Thanks for the replies. For Top Spin 4 do I need more than a standard Microsoft Xbox 360 console to play it. I saw some videos of games on Youtube but haven't seen videos of what the people are doing as they play it (just the video images).

Actually I was hoping for an interface like the original wii, but one where you couldn't get away with wrist flips but instead would have to perform actual tennis strokes. From what I've read top spin 4 has way better graphics but it seems to be more of a button pushing experience?

Actually, the original Topspin was/is a great game. But I agree, of all the recent games, it's gotta be Topspin 4.
