Buckeyes have performed well indoors, their advantage has been an extended indoor season and facilities.
The trip to Georgia on Wednesday will be a test and battle--test of How well they transition to an outdoor venue and a battle of B1G #1 vs. SEC #1.
After losing Rola, Smith, McCarthy, VanEngelen and Christ from last year's squad I never would have imagined Tucker could have developed talent that might contend immediately.
Getting Herkko Pollanen at #2 was huge.
I love his game, and things are starting to click at just the right time.
Pleasant surprises for the Bucks have been the performance at the bottom lines from Ralf Steinbach and Hunter Callahan, and the production of Kevin Metka.

Actually you've had quite a bit of faith in Iowa. Rating them
Pretty good in your rankings each week.

Minnesota is so weird. Lose to Iowa and get crushed by a bad Washington but then take Notre Dame to the wire.

So much for the Michigan State improvement. They sent the junior varsity team to Louisville today.

I would have expected Louisville in a close one, 7-0 is strange

One of the shorter write-ups you'll see after a match. No quotes from Michigan State's coach of course what would you have to say after getting it handed to like they did. How they managed to not score more than 3 games in a set against Louisville is beyond comprehension.

    1) Stiefelmeyer (UL) def. Lied (MSU) 6-2, 6-0
    2) Wagner (UL) def. Pfister (MSU) 6-1, 6-1
    3) Simich (UL) def. Mullane (MSU) 6-2, 6-3
    4) Gornet (UL) def. Forman (MSU) 6-3, 6-3
    5) Lippens (UL) def. Linders (MSU) 6-3, 6-2
    6) Damrongsri (UL) def. Roy (MSU) 6-0, 6-2

one thing is clear now, OSU is human and will be not the lone favourite to win it all, and maybe even Illinois can beat them..but only with Hiltzik.

    1)
Ohio State , losing at georgia, was a great game, could ve gone either way, and that lost doubles point was not really expected; they play the 2 michigans this weekend

    2) Illinois , they are really tough even without Hiltzik and Page, won easily vs USF and Pepperdine and also they lost 0-4 vs Baylor that match could ve gone easily 2-4 or so, without them they are down to 6 players

    3) Michigan, easily lost at home vs Columbia, that delivers some concerns, but they are 3-0 vs SEC..thats fine results

    4) Penn State , they beat Princeton on the road easily, they stay on 4 , still ve only 1 loss, going on a Florida -trip this weekend

After this 4..it gets really hard to get a right ranking so far

    5) Nwestern, did not play this week and also next week

    6) Purdue, did not played this week, will play the San Diego Invite this week with matches vs SDSU, San Diego, Denver

    7) Minnesota, , did not play

8.) Indiana, they are falling, losing to Lville and TTech, also they lost to decent teams with hard-fought losses..they keep losing, play vs illinois on Sunday !

    9) Iowa, their 2-5 loss at Charleston looks badly...but they ve still 10+ wins...plus the Gophers win. Iowa will really get problems after the season,, they ve 6 seniors.......but they will get a 5-star recruit (also i do not see the 5stars..more 4-star player Josh Silverstein plus a lower Belgium player

    10) MSU ,losing 0-7 to louisville with NO Sets...everyone wants that i put iowa lower...but there is no team to be put higher...

    11) Nebraska, did not play, will play Wisconsin and Minnesota this weekend, after that we ve more truth about them, but in fact this is not a Top75 team...

    12) Wisconsin, easily got swept by Miami, will play USF tomorrow and Nebraska on weekend, maybe their last chances to not end on bottom in the Big10

And they do, 4-3. Why would the Big 10 challenge the Southern Conference in a tennis match? :)

Just noticed today that Brian Alden is at Iowa, and he won at #2. Good for him; it took him quite a journey to find his final school.

Penn State looks to be sitting pretty right now, all of their singles starters besides Bader are either freshmen or sophomores. They lose 1 player from each of their top 2 doubles teams after this season, but that's it. I don't know a lot about DI tennis, but their current ranking seems impressive to me, given their youth. I wonder how high they can get within the next few years.

ALSO I haven't seen this mentioned yet, but maybe I just missed it...their top singles player, Leonard Stakhovsky, is the younger brother of Sergiy. You know, the guy that beat Federer at Wimbledon last year? That's impressive.

OSU vs. michigan showdown carries a larger stake than merely the battle against B1G undefeated rivals.

if buckeyes prevail they would extend their consecutive home win streak to 184, which would tie the NCAA mark in any div. 1 sport.

Spartans looking to rebound from that JV effort vs Louisville. This would be a bad loss for Penn State. They are starting to scuffle now after the hot start.

Purdue had a couple of nice wins in San Diego this weekend beating both Denver and Princeton 4-0 after losing 4-1 to San Diego in a tighter match than the score indicated

Twitter only - Indiana score first. Monette got blown out 2 & 0 but Kopinski at 2 and Illinois took dubs so it's 2-0.

    No 1 (2-6), No. 2 (2-6, 0-6), No. 3 (5-6), No. 4 (5-5), No. 5 (2-6, 1-2), No. 6 (2-5)

Lineups: IU (Lalic, Monette, Bednarczyk, Tasic, Lugonjic, McCoy) ILL (Gosea, Kopinski, Guignon, Bazarnik, Childers, Jesse)

Indiana not doing at all well, usually spring break helps them and they improve but yesterday was bad. Some winnable conference games comingup though.

Ohio State still struggling at 2 & 3 singles and at 2 & 3 doubles. Will put a lot of pressure on everybody else if they can't improve at these positions.

Yep. Coach is a nice guy but a sub .500 record. He's been at MSU for 23 seasons. I think we could use a change.

Yes they need a coach that expands his recruiting comfort zone. Orlando recruits too much from Michigan. He has made the tournament once in his tenure and that was barely last year! MSU has a very nice indoor facility, they could definitely be better.
