Big Banger/Synthetic=no spin, pop, or feel?

I got one of my new FXP Prestige's strung with Lux Big Banger Original and Prince Synthetic Gut hybrid. Both 16 gauge. It was strung at 65 lbs. It felt like it had no pop, no spin potential, and little feel. I'm probably going to lower the tension. Do you guys think this will help? Any suggestions? By the way, I really liked the racquet when it was just strung with plain synthetic.

If your using the mid, then thats an insanely high tension for it. However, i think you'd need to lower the tension (possibly significantly) before your going to get power from it

I'm not using the mid. I'm using the MP. I want the catapault effect that I felt earlier. If worst comes to worst, I can simply string them up with Head Synthetic.

Also, will lowering the tension give me more spin?

I think that a lower tension should help your spin but bare in mind the racquets an 18*20 so its not meant to be a serious spinner

I understand, but I'm just saying I was able to get a lot more spin when demoing. Maybe I'll try a higher gauge string.

You need to drop about 13 lbs, or more. Then see if you still have the same questions...

You're gonna lose some feel with polyester.

    Pffft, like I'd know
I actually have BB ALU rough / Yonex synthetic(very basic synthetic, very soft) at 56/54, and it plays well, for about two weeks, then it dies.

are you using BB main and synthetic gut cross? if so try swapping them. that will make a difference. also you do need to drop a few pounds in tension

Thanks for the suggestions, guys. First thing, obviously, is to drop tension, then we'll go from there.

Also, like others have said, 65 is way way too high with a poly. I also much prefer lux alu power compared to the original

Besides lowering you tension about 10 lbs, you could also try using a smaller guage string. Try 17g instead of 16g to open up that dense string pattern.

I feel kinda stupid now. The next day I played with the same racquet and it felt great. It wouldn't have been so bad if I hadn't just ordered two expensive sets of X-one Biphase. Oh, well, learn from your mistakes. Maybe I didn't like the strings because I was a little off, or maybe they just needed to "set in."
