    Howdy, all.

About 3 weeks ago, I developed some pain on the outside of my right knee (or somewhere near there). This happened when I went for a jog.

Anyway, a few days later, I went jogging again, and the pain was back. After about of 5 min of jogging, I could feel it.

So for the next week or so, I didn't jog. Instead, I walked more and rode the exercise bike. Lucky for me, I could do those things. Only running gives me that pain.

And here I am now (pretty much a week later). I tried jogging again, but after 5 min, I could feel the pain.

I'm really frustrated. I thought this pain would've ended by now, but no.

Should I be worried? I just thought I'd ask you guys 1st.

    Thanks.

    Where is the pain specifically?

It's a bit below the outside of my right knee. Sometimes it hurts when I bend my knee (that's only when I've attempted to jog again, of course).

Was there a precipitating injury or trauma to the leg? Would it better be described as an overuse issue? Describe the pain - sharp, dull, soreness.

    No previous traumas or injuries.

Definitely not overused. I took up jogging at the start of this year. I did it like... 2-3 times a week.

The pain becomes quite sharp. I'll start to limp a little if it hurts bad.

Not a doctor or play one on TV. Look up Runner's Knee or Ilobital band syndrome (not sure of the spelling). See if that jives with what you've been feeling. Also you might look at the book CHI Running which has helped me run better.
