TW - are you guys having Black Friday gift card sales this year?

I haven't seen anything in my email yet.

Not trying to cause trouble, but your initial post offers no mention of what you sate above, simply "no, unless I am wrong". And to that, if you have information supporting that statement, please share it w/ us, whether it be a post here by TW Staff, an e-mail you received, or a phone conversation.

Sorry, but there are way too many people here posting stuff as fact, when it is almost always pure speculation (just go over to the Pro's Gear section, where according to some people, Del Potro should be wearing Li-Ning shoes and playing with Head racquets).

So please provide a concrete source to support your statement. And if it is speculation, that is fine, just state it as such.

It isn't just McLovin. His post #5 echoes my thoughts perfectly.

I am confused by your original post and the one above. Are you :

    a) Guessing that TW isn't selling their Holiday Gift Cards?
    or
    b) do you have a post from TW or can you quote a TW employee who went on the record telling you TW isn't selling their Holiday Gift Cards?

I wouldn't be surprised if TW stays mum until Black Friday.

I searched and could not find any post from TW Staff stating there would or would not be a sale on gift cards this year.

Tw mention during email communication that due to to manufacture restrictions they are not going to have gift card sale.

I am happy buying with or without gift card sale because happy hour sale & general prices are pretty good.

That's the reason I figure. Last year they could not be used on Babolats.

Previous years they had no restrictions. Last year they restricted the use of the gift cards on Babolat racquets. I wouldn't be surprised if there are more restrictions or they just do away with them.

Stupid manufacturers are price fixing everywhere. Consumers lose.

We will not be offering a discounted gift card this year as there would be too many restrictions on what you could use it on. However, we will be having other surprises for Black Friday though.

    Thanks Brittany -

Always appreciated TW's 20% off gift cards in years past- it was a kind gesture of your company to offer them.

Sure they will be missed, but their absence certainly doesn't take away any of my positive experiences with TW. I particularly appreciate the enthusiasm from the TW staff, and buy from you because of your passion for the game.

'tis disappointing, but let's all just echo the sentiments of g4driver. I couldn't have put it any better myself.

We keep coming back to TW because TW takes care of its customers. Thanks, TW!

Everyone loves the 20% off and it's exciting because we would have likely bought from TW anyway. The lack the the cards this year doesn't affect my normal purchases. Yet with the discount frequently I'd buy things I would not otherwise figuring I had some free money to spend.

yeah my extra buy won't happen this season at TW because of no 20% gift card sale. Otherwise normal shopping happens at TW.

Thanks for the immediate response...but today is Tuesday...I mean why you call it Black Friday?
Are there specific items that get a discount or all of the items will have some kind of discount?
    Thanks again.

    ac3111,

Some manufacturers have started their sales early this year and we wanted our customers to have the sales available to them. But we will also have deals specific on Black Friday and Cyber Monday that you won't want to miss.

Good to see more discount items, but for gift card, I'm disappointed, as last year you offered 20% for card.

Will any of these special deals apply to new racquet models or only the racquets currently on sale/clearance?

    Lets answer Q2 first...

Black Friday has been the 'unofficial' start to the Christmas Holiday shopping season in the US for years. The term 'Black Friday' comes from retailers 'getting in the black', meaning this is when many make most of their profits for the year (as opposed to being in the 'red', meaning you are losing money).

Black Friday has always been the day after Thanksgiving. Seeing as how you are from Greece, it would make sense you would not understand this as Thanksgiving is a North American holiday (US/Canada).

So, to answer Q1, 'when is it', Thanksgiving falls on the 4th Thursday in November, making Black Friday the 4th (or 5th on that rare occasion like this year) Friday in November.

Does anyone remember if the TW holiday gift cards from last year or previous years were restricted on stringing machines?

No. I bought a gamma drop weight stringer last year with the disc GC. So glad I pulled the trigger.

Does anyone have a good guess whether the top line shoes will be marked down further on friday and Monday?

I was really only interested in 1 thing for today: The Women's Asics TW custom colorway for my wife (regular $119, Black Friday price of $89).

But I mistakenly put in size 7, realized it after trying to get to checkout for 10 min, went back & changed it to 7.5 (another 5 min), then went back to checkout (another 5 min).
