I just recieved the April 2012 issue of TENNIS magazine. On page 13 they have a one page article on the Juice and Victoria Azarenka. The also have a a full page picture of the Juice 100 which clearly shows a 16x19 string pattern, and right beside the pic they show the specs and correctly state that it is 16x18.

I just find that funny. The Juice Pro is 16x20, the Juice 100 is 16x18, yet the picture is definitely a 16x19. Even the picture in the Wilson ad with Azarenka shows a 16x19. I'm well aware of the whole pro Paint Job thing, but you would think they would use a photo or the retail Juice in the article.

This makes me wonder, is it possible to string a 16x18 racquet as a 16x19?

Even if it's possible, much less advisable, it seems you'd be adding that extra cross strong either at the extreme top or extreme bottom of the head of the racquet, where it would seem to serve essentially no purpose. What's the point?

Not sure how its possible to put a string where no hole exists.

Probably just a marketing f'up in the picture.

^^ the extra cross would have to share a hole with a main, probably not a good idea where it wasn't intended to be so.

I need to try to post this picture. If anyone out there can do it easily, please do so.

This could be interesting. Probably just a marketing screw-up as mentioned above, or it's a PJ.

Hey BC1, I am resurrecting your thread becasue I noticed the same thing :) Hahahaha, my wife told me: "Tell me that you are not counting number of mains and crosses on that photo" LOL

PS the cover page has it right - 16x18 and grommets on this photo look differently - no that "spike" at the end

I've wondered why Wilson didn't release the juice 100 with a 16x19 pattern? I'm guessing maybe because the string bed possibly feels less "boardy" with a more open 16x18 pattern, and maybe to seperate it from the pro open's 16x19? Plus I guess it gives it more power? Maybe it was a good decision after all.

Has anyone confirmed if Azarenka is actually playing with a 16x19 pattern (in whatever racquet she is actually using. It obvioulsy is just a paint job)?

Looks like 18x19 to me. Just like the Instinct she used to play with...
