He did take a practice run for the heck of it and your correct his sore I believe was in the 2000 range but with more focus I am sure he could bump it up .

Awesome that you are a history teacher. My daughter took APUSH as a junior and really loved that class.

Uh huh... add this to the bullsh*t list just like everything else. So with all his other freakish athletic accomplishments that you like to tout, he also just "for the heck of it" has SAT scores good enough to get into Harvard or Yale? Oh, but college isn't the goal so don't take it officially. He's a prodigy and a genius and a freak athlete, and it's all because of you. Sure, Brad.

Here is a hint when exaggerating (read: lying): try and at least make your body of work within the realm of possibility.

From all accounts DB is a very bright kid. I'm assuming that the academics are taught more by his mom than his dad (based on spelling and word usage). No evidence to doubt that the kid can score high on test. Pound on his dad, but not the kid.

Nice to hear you are a hs teacher. History is very important. Can't figure out a solution to pblms if we don't know what got us here. Also helps to know how the great leaders, Adams, Jefferson, Lincoln, Churchill, Roosevelt, thought and handled things.

    Ga tennis,

Have you looked into the current coaches' situation at Boca? You probably saw the HP coach job posting on this board the other day.

I heard a couple of highly-ranked, pro-aspired juniors in our section who have got financial support from USTA to train with the current coaches, tournament fees, travel expense, etc. without moving to Boca. They have to play certain tourneys and occasionally go to Boca for training.
Your daughter just started to play USTA tourneys so might not be in that situation yet but it is worth exploring that alternate route....so she can continue with HW.

If you choose for her to go full time at Boca, will you or your wife move to be with her so could see her daily or at least every weekend? At 10, she is too young to be by herself IMO. Besides...I'm sure you could not live more than a few days without seeing her hit tennis ball...:)

I would explore whether you can get financial support from the USTA and stay at home with your current coach. She may have to agree to go to Boca 3 or 4 times a year. If your player is 4 star or higher most local coaches will give a discount if you have limited resources. Sometimes a flat fee for the year- which can work out to big savings. Coaches don't mind cutting their price for the best players. It attracts parents with deep pockets who believe, mistakenly, that the coach has a magic wand. He/she will wave it a few times and their kid will be great too.

My daughter played a girl in a regional G12 tourney a couple of years ago who trained at Boca. I talked with her mother during that match. She said both of her kids commuted daily to Boca. They lived in Miami. The girl was homeschooled and wanted to be a pro. Her older brother, may be 15 did not want to be a pro, in regular school but still go daily to train at Boca. They were local there and it seemed they could get invited there easily. Another father of a gold ball winner I talked to briefly during a match at Winter national told me his daughter was not home schooled, go to Boca or Carson occasionally. She is a USTAPD kid but not home schooled.

Heath should be giving him a deep discount (on that ridiculous 200 an hour) with as good a promoter as GA has been.

Wow that was simply beautiful. I don't think Mozart, Michelangelo or Shakespeare could have said it so eloquently. Certainly Robin Williams would not have made me laugh so hard.

Yea man I feel ya. Hey one question I got wrong on that test which Deit probably got right. This one really got me man.

    If 4(x+y) (x-y) = 40 and x-y=20, what is the value of x+y?

Oh wow, I got this one wrong too. Hey man please try to get the big man to get this for me.

A small company has some free movie tickets to distribute to its employees. If each employee gets 5 tickets, there will be 15 left over. If 5 employees will receive 7 tickets, and none will be left over. How many tickets does the company have?

Whew dude that one was rough, can you get the big Deit to help me.

    (x+y) = 0.5

seems like a really easy problem

your 2nd math problem isn't clearly written

Well we already know he is a very good tennis player. I don't think Brad has lied about his "athletic accomplishments." They are there on the web for everyone to see.

I don't see why it is so hard to believe that he has a decent SAT score as well.

I think why i am so turned off to the college deal is all the reps on here for college and their lack of simple knowledge , lets say for one taking a sample test out of a book , on line , going to a place of testing to do a trial run before the real deal a year and a half from now ect. very possible but can not happen these days I guess .

Soianko I read jealousy a mile away and shortcomings in life most on here have then there are the few like yourself that are content .

Because the claim is not just a "decent score". It is a score way above his peer group, home schooled kids. I am told, by an Ivy coach, only 1 or 2 home schooled kids in the country score that high. And it is usually a girl. The score claimed is comparable to what a Stuyvesant student scores. In addition he ran the 40 yd dash in a time equal to Andrew Luck and Cam Newton- the last two first draft choices of the NFL- and considered 2 of the best college athletes ever at the quarterback position. Draw your own conclusions.

Andrew Luck ran the 40 as fast as Cam Newton?

BTW board QB's dont train to run they drop back and look to throw from a pocket most our tennis kids start from the age 7 or 8 yrs old racing down balls .
Its amazing when you decide to sidetrack and get your player with and elite runner at the olympic level to teach him how to run correctly with the foundation that has been there from the beginning .

Most on here dont believe it cause they have never thought of taking there player down that road and are not wanting to believe some uneducated guy thought it up and did it and is getting those times .
I am ok with you guys holding your positions and more then anything hope you encourage everyone you meet it cant be done it will help me out a lot with my project. To that i say thanx ahead of time.

    I don't believe that only 1 or 2 home-schooled kids got above a 2000 on the SAT.

Or are you saying only 1 or 2 tennis playing kids or only 1 or 2 kids who applied to that particular Ivy who wanted to play on the tennis team got above 2000 on the SAT?

The last permutation is the only reasonably accurate thing the Ivy coach could have said and that has nothing to do with Deiton.

Brad did not say the boy got a 2400, he said Deiton has scored in the "2000 range" (presumably on practice tests). That really is not a far fetched scenario.

And yes, that is a "decent" score. In my daughter's graduating class kids who were shooting for Ivies were trying to score over 2200-2300 and taking the test multiple times over sophomore, junior and senior year to do so (including test prep and private tutoring).

BTW, you are talking about the Stuyvesant HS average not their top scores...so yes, that is a decent score, not hardly some impossible feat for a smart kid (who may have taken quite a bit of test prep for all we know).

It' a pattern. He exaggerates everything. Take a stroll throgh his various posts and you'll see that his "project" (his word) does everything at top human levels... And all because of Brad's superior methods and intelligence.

Look, I've never rooted against DB and think he's a good player and likely a bright kid, but Brad is a serial liar. This is not just putting a little shine on your kids' ability, which we all do from time to time. It's over the top and people eat it up. That's all I'm pointing out.

Well the offer stands for you also , bring your stopwatch! Find out if just good old fashion hard work is some special intelligence or what I have been exaggerating the whole time "good old fashion hard work" did you you get the method I said it 2x so you would. ?

Let me exaggerate bet he is top 10 in the nation today !

Believe what you want to. He has the SAT scores of a Stuyvesant student. The 40 yard dash time of a #1 NFL draft choice. I heard about his massive 125 or 130 mph serve. Do you believe that too? Problem is I saw him play after being told of the serve. You know what, I saw nothing faintly resembling a masive 125 or 130 mph serve. The kid's a good player, but not the level his coach or father claims.

Did you have a radar gun in your hand or was there one on the court he played ? Answer is No, so that is and argument neither of us can win , bringing a stopwatch out can get to the bottom of the 40 times.
Are you up for the challenge or are you a coward like the rest of the screen-hiders on here ?

Eyeballing serve speed means nothing. Any claim should be in competition with an official radar. A hand-timed 40 means nothing. It's too short a distance to be accurate in any way. Any claim should be electronically timed, just like published NFL times and official track and field records. A practice test that's "in the range" means nothing. Any claim should be an accredited test and published results. Anything else is just speculative hot air.

The kid lost the match 3 and 3. He didn't serve big. 36 1st serves in, 2 aces. Any frequent observer knows what a 125 mph serve looks like and sounds like. His serve was not fast or overpowering. He held 6 times, got broken 3 times. Kid's very good, not on level with top juniors. Got to do on the court, can't do it with Dad's bragadiccio on TW.

That's about what I thought Luck ran (from what I remembered about the combine). I thought Cam Newton was faster than that.

I would say he served a few in the 120's but i also take into count Filip was returning 'great", anything in his strike zone Filip returned at a high rate and with ease , Cant take from Filips returns which made a lot of big serves look average.

I agree but like I said so many on here are ready to say what they "saw" eyeball it , heck even TCF throws out ridiculous statements without even seeing anything with his own eyes and is completely sure of it, no evidence needed for him .

I offer you what i can ,Man up or what do they say "shut up". You guys can shut me down just show up bring your stop watch and if you like we can place money on it and i have a couple of colleges here in So.Cal i can probably get the electronics for you ..

Just let me know when you want to step up or you start sounding like
TCF and his freak athlete girl who would blow Serena off the court , we still would like a video of her .

But dont worry will video that in Jupiter very soon or Boca Resort .

Man up to what? I'm not the one making claims on an internet forum. My post history is all there - never made any claims or statements as to my own or my kids' abilities, results, or phantom future accomplishments. I discovered this forum years ago when researching shoulder surgery. I stayed because I found it a great resource for tips, drills, advice and shared experiences. Not much of that going on these days - mostly bragging, arguing and hubris now. Bummer.

Getting back to the topic Ga.- is Heath willing to give you a partial scholarship or discount? I know you think he's great- he should be doing this. The coaches I know do.

This reminds me of the days when I would go to a bar and there was some tough guy in there acting all tough wanting to fight doing a lot of talking , heres what I would do, I would order a song no one liked but allowed me the whole floor then I would give the tough guy the finger and present the challenge him against me "I love the arm bar or choke "! Guess what happened almost everytime? tough guy changed the subject, act like he didnt notice me but everyone there saw the challenge was there for his taking .

As for BMC96 I knew he wouldnt take the challenge something about electronics and coaching32 he is giving and honest assesment of what he belives is true and I respect that .

Anyway beginning of Jan if you change your minds.
