I agree with him. Asking people to play best of five matches on back to back days is absurd. I've always wondered if Sampras would have won the 2000 and/or 2001 finals had there been a day of rest. And the following year, he had an advantage over Andre, who played later and longer than him. And Federer was clearly fatigued in this year's final (his movement and serve were terrible).

They need to move the tournament back a week, keep super saturday and play the mens final on monday night.

Maybe play the mens and womens semi's on sat making a real super saturday. Then have the women play their final on sun night. 2 out of 3 sets and the matches arent nearly as long on the wta. Id also like to see womens finals be 3 out of 5 sets.

    Also no competition with football.

Yup, I agree it should be a weak earlier. The ratings in the US would be better without football competing against it.

You are right on the money. The finals would be higher quality with players aged 27 and up having a better chance to recover from the semi's. Plus I could then enjoy Footballs opening Sunday watching the games with friends and have a nice Monday final to look forward to.

Although I think 2-3 sets for the women is fine.

i'm almost sure it cost agassi the title in 1995 and 2002. he had the tougher semi-final match in both years, played the second match in both years, and admitted feeling extremely tight/sore the morning of the final.
