the canadian U16 nationals are at my club this week. lots of pure storms and ps teams. not as many pure drives but quite a few APDs.

absolutely EVERYONE walking around in babolat tracksuits from their respective clubs though.

a little feedback from me - a huge fan of the PSTeam.

I love this stick, and feel like it is is slept on big time. The only problem I was having is that now and then I would lose the feel for the ball and it would trampoline on me. Not a huge deal, but since I have ADD, I got a Tfight 315, which is similar and ended up switching to it.

Could not pinpoint what did not totally sell me on the Team for a while, but I figured it out - It's those woofer grommets. I don't think they are needed in the classic racquets. I can see how they are cool in the PD and APD, but the Pure Storm series does not need them..IMO.

Anyway, if Bab is making new sticks with classic feel, tight patterns..etc..I hope they try them without any cortex or woofer grommets because they are not really needed - IMO.

^^^ Rumor had it that some of the touring pros had Pure Controls and Storms with non-woofer grommets. Such are the spoils of being sponsored and having access to pro-stock.

    Yep, here is one!

This was Carlsen's, Pure Control Competition (i.e Pro Stock), which in this case is a 2nd Generation (swirly) racket, with 1st Gen (non-woofer) grommets and 3rd Gen (Team) paint. Gonzo used something similar originally as well. Due to the grommet channel being different to retail, this is Pro mold only.

Haha, you should see the sexy close-up photos of the 1st Gen grommets on this one lol:)

(unfortunately though the racket is in storage, and I don't actually have any other photos of it)

Babolat should bring back those 1st gen grommets and do it right.

There is nothing wrong with an amazing feeling stick that has really no tech and just focuses on feel, flex and control.

Tec 315s sell out here now on a regular basis. May just be a supply issue, but regardless, there is always going to be a large demand for these types of racquets.

Put out something like Jimbo's, preferably with ~RA63, and you've got my attention...maybe even my money...which is the point, isn't it?

Yeah, but they need a much larger platform of potential buyers to justify that kind of racquet.

My stringer (ATP touring stringer) showed me pics of the new line which will be replacing the storm series,

it was all blacked out, and the neck was very thin, which concaved in.. also the string beads where the strings insert too, are shaped very unique..

    looked crazy...

ermm, the neck of the racquet had crevices which concave'd in, not to sound so confusing.. and it was all black as it was just the prototype. will be releasing next year im hearing

i dont think that that was the one, on the one i saw, there were crevices on the throat area that concaved in , maybe there are some on that racquet but on that angle its hard to tell

Thats not it! I think Gav is fishing...
the photo he posted looks like Ryan Harrisons old prototype/stock made PST.

The new ones are only prototypes.
I am sure Babolat don't want any photos posted on the internet.

If any stringers get hold of 1 and decide to post(like Drakulie, for example).
    I can't stop that:twisted:

Nope not fishing.......that's Ryan's demo stick from Delray a while back......goofy prototype grommets - Babs is working on a new stick for Harrison -

But they way he was describing the "beads" it sounded very much like this old picture.......the stuff I've seen doesn't match what he described -

There are some demos floating around in France but none have been diverted my way yet:(

I think it will depend on building the anticipation for next year!:)

Now that you guys have Harrison locked up for a few yrs with that awesome 7 figure deal. What doesn't someone go smack him and his old man around a bit and convince them to find a real "grown up" coach. Tres is a great guy but jeeeez it's like two frat boys hitting 6th street on a weekend. With your investment gotta believe someone has some pull here. So far this season its a disaster and switching to the Storm Tour and new strings not helping.

What was the reasoning behind changing the shape of the Babolat Custom Damps from round to square?

My experience is that the square ones stay in better. Just my thought, but I'll defer to the Babolat expert. Best dampener out there (in my opinion) is the Babolat Loony damp.

It only came out when I had it on my PDR+ (2009?) that flew out of my hands and cracked when I was serving... btw, is there any way to get a replacement racket since the other one cracked...?

Nay, I never heard of such thing. Especially since you're the one responsible for the crack, not someone else.

We cover all warranty through our authorized retailers, one year from date of purchase. Your local shop can help you send it in if it was purchased within the past year.

it depends. when people are kind and honest to the warranty department, they're pretty generous. when people write them saying it was the products fault and it randomly snapped, they tend to be a little more skeptical and "by the book."

you'd be surprised how far honesty and kindness go in dealing with customer service reps...

even though I have no idea what's going on on the video, there's no denying that the japanese can make a pretty good racquet review video

note that in the intro you can see the PD in all its iterations throughout the years

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hvrVWttOsUI&NR=1&feature=endscreen

also, that pink shirt is seriously fugly, but somehow I cant stop looking at it.

Its been a good bit longer than a year (2 or 3)... I'm pretty sure I bought it through TW. Its "okay" if I don't get a new one. I just like to have a different racket (not to many people like 12 oz + frames with poly at 60lbs) if anybody needs to borrow one.

No secret the numbers never released but Yonex claimed they offered $800,000+ plus per yr and that he took less to stay with Babolat. So on the 4 yr deal it should be worth 7 figures. I was talking total comp - not per annum:)

I see two things wrong with that video:

    1. He's using a 1HBH;

    2. He's up at the net.

I call shenanigans on the whole thing.

Babolat official, I need your help. I have about a 18 month old pure storm tour 2011 model that has developed a crack at the 10 o clock position. What are my options as far as warranty? Thanks!

I used to negotiate these contracts. Trust me, they're a lot more complex than X amount per year.

But yes, traditionally Yonex pays very well.

This has maybe been asked before, but is there any way you can buy a new original APD (not used ones on ****). There must be thousands of them stored somewhere that were never sold at the time.

Cause I take it that Babolat is never gonna offically sell it again?

Sorry...We do not have any plans to start producing them again. We have not made them for years. Maybe check with TW if they have some in back stock?

    @Babolat Official.

I just bought a case of the Babolat balls for play on fast hard court from TW and I've noticed that after about 20-30 of hitting they rapidly lose pressure and play almost flat, it's very noticeable.

I compared a ball after about 30 min of play to a new one fresh out of the can and the resistance while squeezing the ball is substantially less, this means to me that pressure is escaping.

After about 2hrs worth of hitting the drop test is comparable to a ball with double or triple the use as the Babolat ball just bounces once or twice and then almost stops flat goes into a roll.

I did bit of cursory searching and I couldn't find any threads on this issue. So far I've used 3 cans from the case and they are all like this. I bought a case of these balls last year and I didn't have any problems like this and I was pleased with the speed and spin of the balls. I usually play with Dunlop A player balls and one 1 can is good enough to last me through an entire hit(3hrs) albeit I usually break at least one ball.

    I am not this guy::
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ES_QA-VG-Ec

I'm just a normal 4-4.5 NTRP player. I am thinking I am probably going to to just send the case back and go with the Dunlops, just curious to hear your thoughts...

Weird. I play with those 4-5 days a week and always think they are too pressurized.

Anyways, all warranty is done through authorized Babolat retailers. In your case, this is TW. Call them and they will help facilitate the warranty submission. If there are any issues, just shoot me an email dbecker@babolat.com.

When will it be available to the general public? Will TW sell it?

How about sending me one for free to evaluate and write a report about?

I just saw a commercial on Tennis Channel where Babolat held an even at some private club and gave new pairs of shows to people who donated a used pair of shoes. What a joke, it was basically giving already well off people free tennis equipment for trading in used stuff.

Why not take those new shoes and dontate them to people who really could use it instead of those who are well off as it is? Seems like more of a publicty stunt than an actual event with good intentions.
