It looks like Pauline Parmentier is using the new Pure Storm, not the Pure Strike. However, they do both look very similar (mostly black, and orange). It looks almost like the pure storms made back in 2006 just with an orange color...

Im afraid you are wrong. P.Parmentier is sponsored by LACOSTE. Your Pic is old.
Go to her twitter page. @ppauline86 . You will find a photo of her from today.
She is holding the new frames (black, orange). And they are leaded up at 3 and 9....

Loved the red and white PS color scheme. Black and orange, not so much.

I currently use rpm team (I am a junior) and I was warned that blast would be bad for my arm. However, many of my friends use it. What are the differences (other than stiffness)

TBH, any co-poly could be bad for your arm, no miracles here. Well, at least keep it fresh by restringing it every 15 hours or so, and no high tensions it's not worth it with co-polys.

Any clues on what players to watch at the US Open?

Spotted Pauline Parmentier in the qualifying using a new frame, was it the new Pure Strike with no paint job?

    Anyone else?

Thx for the reply, however, NXT was just not durable enough for me, as I would pop it every 2 weeks or so playing 2-3 times a week. Thankfully, I have a very flexy racquet, and I havent had any problems yet

    Hi,

Great discussion about merits or otherwise of racket stiffness, but I have never come across explanation as to what exactly numbers quoted for racket stiffness on TW websites and on rackets actually mean?

We know that using Babolat diagnostic centre we can apply weight/force to tip of the racket fixed somewhere along the handle.
This will cause deflection from original position of the tip, which we be greater for softer racket than the stiffer one.

However how do we arrive at the numbers being quoted. Since there are no units quoted, the numbers are some ratio?

I emailed TW, Babolat and few other manufacturers in the past, but never got a straight answer.

I hope as "Babolat Official" you could use your contacts in technical department to let us know. :)

    thanks and regards,

    Andrew

Poly strings are far less resilient than natural gut or most synthetic strings. We really only recommend using a full set of poly if you are breaking strings every 8-14 hours of play. If you find that you really enjoy the feel they impart, you can try hybriding with a softer string in the crosses (or reverse hybrid, which is gaining popularity with the pros and some of the guys in the office).

RPM team is a softer version of RPM Blast, the idea being that some players need a softer poly. The feel of the string plays slightly different, however I found the spin potential to be negligible. I'm guessing some players in the string forum can provide more play test insight.

    Does that help at all?

It turns it is probably called STRIKE as per the video that was up and the denial by the official that it is called STRYKE.

Sorry if this has already been answered.....

3 new rackets on the horizon, Play, Strike, updated Storm.

Will the Strike be available in the UK before Xmas?

When is the Play likely to appear in the UK?

I remember you saying the new Storm will be released around the AUS Open? (will it still be red/white? those colours are awesome!)

Thanks for any info DB :)

DB, you know how Adidas (MIADIDAS) and Nike (NIKEiD) let people customise and personalise their purchases.......would Babolat ever consider letting customers choose their own colours used in the paint job on their rackets?

.....a "Babolat Signature Series" for example? :):):)

Play comes to US end of 2013. Stay tuned for rest of world.
New line (hybrid frame) is Dec/Jan depending on market. UK should be Dec.
Pure Storm update Jan/Feb depending on market. Unsure on UK date.

We've discussed this. It won't happen in 2014 but it is a fun way to personalize.

I'll pass on the kind words. As you will see, this was part of an internal challenge from specific markets. Quirky, off beat, and not too serious...I'll be releasing 4 or 5 more over the next 10 days.

    That's Great.
Any plans to get customers to vote for their favourite ad?
Could be an incentive to each country/distributor to come up with a better 1?

Wow the argentinean courts are where I play! Haven't seen the ad before, I thought they just changed sponsors, everywhere there is a babolat logo in the club is where Head logo used to be :p now I know why.

yes, great to see Martin Jaite swinging a racquet again..
looks like they signed a new Babolat deal to go with the Fila one.

Gets my vote so far as best ad for First Strike.
Await the next ones with great interest.

    Hi Daniel,

I have recently purchased the Pure Drive 2013. Loving the frame, hit about 3-4 hours till now. Got it strung with natural gut in mains and poly crosses. Not getting what I want. The frame is nice, any suggestions for the guts? I like control and feel. Have been reading a lot about Technifibre Pro Red code. Full bed of it at 55, whatsay?

Just entered to be a part of the Babolat Play racquet test team on their FB page. Hook a fellow TT'er up Daniel! Jokes aside, the new racquets are looking very good and I'm curious to see how the Play could be used in coaching applications.
