What do you mean? We've already known everything about the Strykes and their official release date is December this year. I don't ask for official information, of course. I just want to hear something about the Storm to have a plan.

    Cheers.

Storm line is what I'm also hardly waiting.

I haven't liked the GT series too much, still have the Zylon Matrix and Carbon Xtreme models going :)

Daniel, at least a date when the official info will be made available for the new Storm line?

The Babolat Official has thrown out a few hints, but the Strike information mainly comes from unofficial sources.

It's called the Strike, by the way, and I've heard that the official release date is October the 15th, but when it's actually sold might be different.

The Storm may be called the Control but I don't think too much will be changed except on the technology level.

At least is something, giving the fact that the Storms are basically unchanged for more than 4 years.

In 1879 the BO talks of a 'Pure Storm update' so it's pretty clear what that means: the box beams with some new technologies.

The psychology of all this is pretty clear: everyone wants to know what is forthcoming but if they already know what is forthcoming they forget about it and move on to what is now forthcoming.

I've seen the new strikes, the new prestiges, the new radicals and the new prostaffs up here and they already seem old hat.

Personally I just want to see if there's a frame that could potentially interest me. So far I've seen the Response that maybe could. >100inĀ², packs some power, good weight, 16 mains. Since I liked the PSLtd., I'll see if there's something similar in a 16 mains version, especially if extended length. Else, I'll move on.

New line with is scheduled for December. New Storm line is scheduled for February. Dates can be staggered based on specific country but not by too much.

Complete update. We actually will have a new hybrid frame that most resembles the Pure Storm Team.

There will be some updates. I haven't had a change to play test yet so I can't say how tangible (i.e. if they actually did anything) they will be. I've got some new Storms headed to the stringer and should have feedback in the next couple weeks.

Can you tell the higher ups to get some better quality control on your leather grips?
I love the Babolat leather but every grip I get is lighter, or thinner, or my biggest pet peeve the entire edge is not always tapered, creating raised edges in the grip job. I often can't determine this until I start gripping and then its too late to return the grip.

    thanks

Had a similar experience with their leather grip thickness as well. I put them on two identical racquets at the same time and the same way and one was at least a half grip size larger.

Curiosity, has any information been made public on Babolat releasing a racquet with a super open string pattern as has become popular as of late?

I think BO mentioned earlier that no super open string patterns were in the works.

Aww, this seriously sucks. You mean, even in Europe? Even in France (yes I'm French). Well, too bad. We'll see if I can get over it. I often looked at Bab' because they seemed to be the only ones to consistently put out extended length versions of all their racquets.

When can we expect new iterations of the Pure Drive? Contemplating if I should buy now or wait a bit? Thanks.

Babolat frames are replaced every three years. Unless you don't plan to buy a frame before 2015, you're better off try one now.

With at least one exception: Pure Storm - 4 years since the last update, and it was nothing but a new p.j.

Good relief. I was afraid Babolat would snob France... which would be quite hypocritical. Well i hope I'll have a reason to be relieved TBH.
    I shall stand corrected.

We're currently at the US sales meeting. There has been a lot of speculation about the stiffness and RA ratings of some of the new frames. One point that was brought up was the difference in our official numbers (sales book, header card) vs. reported by retailers and independent testers.

It will be interesting to see what TW & their tech team report. We'll keep you updated.

    About 70RA.

If you manage to try the Ltd., I have one interrogation. The current Ltd. has a very flexible hoop. In fact, the PS in general have a very, very flexible hoop. How does the new version compares on that point?

Can you let us know how the racket flex compares to the Pure Storm, and how stiff it compares to the APD that you use? I enjoy Babolat rackets but except for the PST and PST GT they tend to irritate my arm. If the new one is as comfortable as the PST GT then I think it may be a good frame to try.

I wonder why Babolat don't make a Pure Strike Tour 320g in 16x19 version..?? that would be a killer to those prestige MP or Wilson 6.1 95..

Yes 16/19 Tour should be May 2014. Goal is early for Clay Court swing into RG.
Some Pro Players will obviously have racquets now.

Your plus version will be in Pure Control Tour for 2014.
It will be released in Europe.
No idea if you will like the specs or feel!:)
The demos should be floating at retailers, coaches very soon.
    so test away.

There seems to be a real desire/need from some posters here for a softer flex in a player's racquet.

Babolat make generally stiffer frames in player's racquets.
Pure Storm was the one exception that played a lot softer, even than it's RA.

Both the Pure Strike & Pure Control are stiff RA, so it will be interesting if Daniel reports that the new Pure Storm is a softer flex than before. Part of his test should be with different strings.

I would try it with VS, Xcel, RPM variations to change feel.

It may be a chance for Babolat to appeal to another market segment.

The current purestorm's flex is listed as 69 by babolat anyway. I would imagine that the new pure control is closer to the current storms in feel

Spoke with a UK Babolat rep today and the feedback from coaches and players so far, has been that the Stryke is very similar to the Wilson Blade.
The Pure Storm which will be replaced by the new Pure Control are almost identical.
The Control is slightly more flexible, this is due to the new material of the racquet.
The racquet I use The Pure Storm Ltd will be call The Pure Control 95

Yes, the Pure Storm Team was listed at 69 RA on the insert. It played like it was in the low 60s.

Yes, as others said, I would like to know what is the stiffness of the new Storms. It should be less rigid than Strike or Drive line. Any info on the weight, string patterns and materials used?

Can you make a subjective comparison to the current GT generation and to the old (Carbone Xtreme) generation of Storms?

And a clue on the p.j., what are the dominant colors? :)

    Thanks a lot!

That's weird because I have only seen the New Pure Control in 3 versions and they are all 98.
They may be making a 95 later but Daniel can confirm.
I think the Strike plays better than the Blade and if you liked the Pure Storm Ltd then you will love the Strike Tour at 320g the balance is sensational and the 18/20 makes it stick!
The Control demos will be out soon but try the Strike First#:)
