Our frames are covered one year from date of purchase (receipt, store record, or cc charge line will suffice).

Frames crack from time to time (some people claim a lot, some never, in part depends on their sentiments towards the brand). Your authorized retailer will help you submit it for warranty. Be honest, be friendly, be appreciative and the warranty team will take care of you if at all possible.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

So are the people who choose to sell tennis product for a living. According to surveys by industry publications(Call TIA for details), we rank #1 or #2 in customer service, overall quality, and dealer satisfaction.

Grassroots marketing is our heritage and we're constantly working to tweak, adapt, and improve the process. The Pure Strike was a great opportunity to test some new strategies, further involves consumers and retailers, get feedback, etc. We did some things really well but still have many areas to improve.

The official pre-sell has not started in the US, but we're getting a lot of strong response from players and dealer. Hopefully the market will follow.

I've heard good things from Europe but won't see official numbers for another couple weeks (sadly, I can't share them).

That's fine, I don't need sales figures...just count the rackets on the courts next summer!

It's all good from my end, just happy to be involved in a small way with the product. I am only interested in discussing, learning how to make that product better.

Oh, well thats unfortunate! Should have submitted it when I first noticed the crack. Now it's to late..

Is there absolutely nothing I could do to get it replaced now?

Contact the dealer you purchased it from on how to submit for warranty, write a nice letter honestly explaining what happened, and send it in. Worst case scenario is they deny the submission and send you the frame back.

    Dear Babolat
Which racket is supposed to be more maneuverable ? Pure drive plus 2012 or Aeropro drive plus 2013 ? thank you

A better question would be - what is the intended unstrung swingweight of both raccquets as designed and manufactured? The intended weight and balance is the same.

Actually, I don't (directly) sell rackets or build them, that is handled by different members of the team.

I'm just stating that within the industry of tennis retailers, we're one of the top rated companies for quality and customer satisfaction.

Obviously, you are entitled to your own opinion and we strongly value your feedback.

Personally, I find the APD more maneuverable...but I find this is subjective to the user.

I recommend testing them yourself and deciding.

    In terms of swing weights:
    PD+: 317
    APD+: 326

SW is lower on PD+ then how can APD+ possibly more maneuverable ? Isn't this impossible from Physics point of view ?

These swingweights are not those intended and manufactured by Babolat, but those as measured by TW.

TW specs are an average so it really depends on what you have in your hands even before there is the question of balance.

Hey, babolat's post is very specific, it doesn't matter who got the number. Bobolat stated SW is lower in PD plus as number indicated. but went on to state that he felt APD plus was more maneuverable. Very specific.

How can this be possible ? did world of physics change in our universe ?

You need to study some philosophy.

You can't play tennis with averages.

What he feels with his racquet is particular to him.

There are build issues and spec tolerances built into the particulars called racquets.

Physics does not change for him but what he plays with are not averages, so we would need to check his particular racquet.

It matters about the numbers because the really interesting fact that manufacturers tend not to reveal is the intended swingweight of their racquet.

The latest iterations of the Drives have dropped considerably.

What can I say, we work magic.

I gave you the swing weights to show that there are numbers/etc...but provided my personal opinion. How the frame feel in your hands is what matters most, right?

I'm also not very good at tennis, there are probably some people on the board who can help you out.

my current frame(s) and specs for testing swing weights:

    2013 Aeropro Drive
    base grip: syntec pro
    grip size: 2
strung RPM Blast 17 (strung @50, for those interested)
*no overgrip used in testing (I use Pro Tour SP or tourna)
**no damp used in testing (I use custom damp, don't use plastic insert)
***all frames ordered at same time, from same production run

    measured swing weights: 318, 320, 322, 322

I don't notice a difference in feel between frames, but my game is not as in tune as most yours.

Great video Daniel!! Are you one of the players?

Will the Play technology be incorporated into other models eventually?

I noticed that the sensor was plugged into the phone. Is it a wired connection or over bluetooth?

Also, really looking forward to getting mine. The video shows the Play's potential as a training device.

Thanks. I wish I could say I filmed and edited this, but it was an outside agency.

They wan't beautiful strokes, so I didn't make the cut, but a couple of our team members did.

    We're just getting started...

Both options. Bluetooth your data to a device and/or connect it via USB to your computer (also to charge).

On the Playtest frames of the Pure Drive Play, are they going to be sent to us unstrung? Or will they be prestrung?

And I don't want to sound annoying, but are emails still planned to go out next week? I remember you mentioning this last week or so.

And I am watching the video of the racquet, it looks really kool and well done.

Slated for end of next week. Comes strung with Xcel but you are free to customize with string, lead tape, etc. Does not affect sensors enough to skew data.

    Pure Strike:
    Jan 2014
    ** 98-16x19 Spring 2014

    Pure Control:
    January 2014
***correction: the date is now January 2014 for Pure Control line***

If you subscribe to the idea that more flexible frames are more arm friendly = Pure Control.

Seeing your data (number of forehands/backhands, types of each stroke: topsin, flat, slice, where you hit the ball on the string bed, rally lengths, power levels) is really cool.

Comparing the data live with your friends for bragging rites and making side bets on training sessions is even better.

I saw Technique, Power and Endurance scores... How is the calculation of the Technique score working in practice? Does it depend on stroke length? And what's your score?

That's great news! Any word on whether a Plus model of either the Pure Control Standard or Pure Control Tour will be offered in the U.S.?

We will have the Pure Control Tour.

No final decision on plus models or 95. Won't be anytime soon but I'm pushing for it.

When do you expect the Pure Controls will officially be unveiled and eventually the info posted on Babolat's website?

Babolat Play's Technique index = consistently hitting the ball in the same spot on the stringbed. I consistently shank my shot, let's see what score i get...

the butt cap is attached differently than a standard frame (feels the same). If you could do it without messing anything up, it is possible. Double check with our warranty if it voids anything.

This once, can you please help me track it to the dealer with the serial #? I sent an email through the Babolat site over a week ago and never got a response?

    The (2) serial #s are KG354425 and KG341257

    Hi Daniel,

I was selected to be a playtester for Babolat Play from connectedtennis. I received a call from Babolat when I wasn't home and never heard back. I'm concerned about grip size as it would be really a downer to have the wrong size. I use a 4 3/8, so am I safe? Will I get a call back or an email asking about grip size? I'm really looking forward to it!

    Thanks!
    Steve
