No new PDs at this time - the Pure Control, Play and Connect Frame and Pure Strike lines are the new releases for 2014.

The Play and Connect Frame is a Pure Drive Std with the new Technology and slightly different PJ.

Same question here, don't think I've gotten a phone call from anyone but I use a 4-3/8 and was selected through the Connected Tennis site. Is that what we'll be getting? Thanks!

That makes a lot of sense, as it is the No2 selling frame after Pure Drive.

If you subscribe to the idea that more flexible frames are more arm friendly = Pure Control.[/QUOTE]

Would be curious to hear your thoughts on frame flexibility and arm friendliness. Based on the way you phrase that response it seems you have an argument against the rational of flexible frames = arm friendly. Mind if I ask what that is? Been having a little arm trouble for the first time so trying to fully understand all the variables.

By the way, played with the Pure Strike this weekend. One of the best frames I have ever hit. Think I may be investing in a couple of those this January.

    Control Tour vs Storm Tour

    Hi Daniel!

I'm very interested in the Pure Control Tour
and I would like to know more on the differences
with the Pure Storm Tour that I currently hold.

What are the differences, if any, in the specification (weight, balance, flex) ?

Which new technologies are used ?

What are the effects you have verified (or expect) on the way the racket plays ?

Hey are all APD 2013 26 7/8" long instead of the listed 27"? I was restapling my buttcap and I measured both my racquets and they come out at 26 7/8" long with the buttcap flush against the handle.

There is a school of thought that more flexible frames transmit less of the shock of ball impact. I partially agree, but I think weight, string type/tension and ability are also important factors to consider.

A personal example: Pure Drive Roddick strung at 65 with 16 RPM Blast is tougher on my body than a Pure Drive 107 strung at 50 Nat Gut.

The Pure Strikes are great and worth a demo. I can't make the switch from my beloved APD but the Strike 100 (weighted to 305) is my second favorite frame in our line.

Slightly more flexible (68=PC vs 69=PS). Remember, our testing is always much higher than TW.

The carbon used in the Pure Control line is 1/2 as dense as the materials in the Pure Storm line. Other than that, specs should be about the same.

As it is our classic frame, doesn't get loaded with too many new technologies.

They are 27 before they are strung. And will remain that length if strung correctly.

What is your stringer set up (6 pt, etc.)?

When I used to string on a drop weight, 2 pt clamp, I inadvertently shortened a couple Pure Drives and Ti.Radicals.

    Hi Daniel,

We wouldnt be able to put silicone into the handle correct? The only way to customize the handle weight would be to add lead handle around the handle.

If they are strung that could just simply be hoop compression.

    See
    http://blog.tennis-warehouse.com/miscellaneous/sneak-peek-new-babolat-pure-control-racquets/

According with the review of Michelle, the Swing Weight of the Pure Control
is much lower than that of the Storm Tour.
That would be strange if the specs are about the same.
    What's wrong ?

I would not risk damaging the inner workings and stick with lead under the base grip.

Added weight is negligible in terms of the sensor readings.

One was strung at my local stringer using vs gut mains at 60lbs and 4G at 56lbs. The other was strung at Tennis Warehouse when I purchased it vs gut mains at 62lb and 4G at 58lbs. I measured my old APD which was always strung with RPM at 50lbs and it measures the same length. The local shop I go to uses top of the line Babolat machines. They string Sampras racquets.
Just wondering if this is normal.

    Hello Daniel,
    How you doing.
I've been using Pure Storm Ltd strung with Xcel at 55lbs for last two years and next week I get a demo of the Pure Control 95, I'm going to string it at 58lbs with Xcel and from a previous discussion between us we agreed it should feel identical as the PC 95 is slightly more flexible.
Please can you tell me is there a Babolat racket with the same weight/swing weight as the two above but is a bit more powerful?
    Thanks D.

It is surprising this would happen to all the frames as:

    1. different string combinations at different tensions would place different stresses on the frame

    2. I know in the past, TW does a majority of their stringing on Prince crank stringers (some version of the NEOS, I believe 4 pt). If your shop is using a Babolat sensor expert or Star 5...these are very different stringing machines.

I'm not really sure what answer you are looking for, but if you think you have defective products, send them in for warranty evaluation.

The closest thing would be Pure Strike 18x20 but would require some minor customization.

Daniel, What about the Pure Storm Tour and the new Pure Control Tour?
How different are they to the PS Ltd?

Bigger head (98), more open string pattern (16x20), thicker beam (21), stiffer frame (63 vs 59 via TW), different balance (1 pt HL vs 9).

Having hit with all of these, I think customizing a Strike 18x20 will get you closer to a PS Ltd. than a Pure Control Tour or Pure Storm Tour.

In what way should I customise it to get it playing the same as a Pure Storm Ltd strung with Xcel at 55lbs?

It will never play the same. If you want the same feel, use the Pure Control 95.

If you want a similar feel with more power, measure your PS LTD on an RDC. Then take a Pure Strike or Pure Strike Tour, and using lead tape and a leather grip, try to match to your PS Ltd. for swing weight, balance, and static weight.

These are different frames, they will not feel the same. But by customizing and play testing, you can get them close to each other, while getting more power (be cognizant that for every advantage, there is a drawback).

Dear Babolat. Can you make the grip shape on your rackets to be more similar to Wilson grip shape ? Your grip shape is not as popular.
Also racket industry should have same grip shape for all manufacturers.

Dunno if you have been asked this or not, but...

For a player with a one handed backhand, and that is only 5'9, what racket would you recommend? I have even turned off from your sticks due to the stigma that babolat sticks are bad for the 1hbh, but would like to hear your opinion!

    Thanks a lot!
