Thanks. I know I get into it with some of you, but we're all tennis lovers here. You all certainly keep it interesting.

He will certainly not, he is posting as a Babolat Rep. and he will not be doing that for much longer if he starts talking about how his company paints over rackets to look like latest retail models as part of a marketing strategy.

It's a fine racket, I never said that it isn't, but it's lacking control due to too much pop compared to the original. I don't know you and what rackets you actually held in your hands, maybe know better than me what equipment "many of the worlds best players" use, but if anyone is going to put power to use it's Nadal, and even he uses a softer setup.

Have you actually compared it to the Original APD? What did you think about the control/power between the two.

Sure seems like you have a stake in this without much basis.

They actually liked the Cortex tech?

Apparently, Rafael Nadal disagrees. Do you have any statements on whether or not he tested the new racquets? I'm just curious on his testimonial.

    Anton,

My only stake in the conversation is to dispel misinformation and blanket statements about products I have knowledge of. As you can see from this link:

    http://tt.tennis-warehouse.com/showthread.php?t=383103

I purchased 2 original aeropro drive plus racquets from Tennis Warehouse. Demoing them side by side this week with the newest aeropro drive, I would choose the newest one without hesitation. It has a more stiff RDC rating but in actual use it does not feel that way and has comparable comfort to the original. It feels better, to me, from all areas of the court, and is more stable in addition. The new APD has better control and the same power with less harshness.

Rafa may prefer the original APD by I and many others do not, and I feel that I play better with the newest version after demoing it.

Remember, everyone has their own preferences. Some people don't know what they are 'talking' about, and say that the APD is the best racquet ever without testing anything else. After testing the iteration of APDs over the years, some people take the original frame.

Testimonials have its strengths and weaknesses. The only person who can determine that a racquet is good is the user. There is no objectivity when deciding racquets. It all depends on personal preference. :)

That is why people should take the time and demo racquets instead of relying on testimonials from strangers and paid employees from TW. I believe that there is a racquet for everyone. However, a lot of people propagandize about their frames and the reason why it performs so well. This is wrong. Not everyone can play with a PS 85. Not everyone can play with a APD. Not everyone can play with a Dunlop Hotmelt.

I agree that the feel is better on the new ones, they are more clean in feel for sure (my original APDs are siliconed for that reason), but the 2012 cortex I'm comparing to definitely has a more bouncy stringbed (same strings and tension, same 11.7oz weight and balance).

One of the agencies sent the Test Flight app too early (oops). You will receive instructions in the coming 48 hours. Rackets will ship end of this week. You will get tracking info sent to the email you provided. Sorry for any confusion.

We also came up short on grip 3 (popular size), so some of you will be receiving grip 2 or grip 4.

Man, if a Bab' rep can't get a set, then who can? :) I hope it's good stuff, although the price is kinda the drawback.

    Hi Daniel,

Looking forward to the play test. I downloaded Test Flight app with no problems. Do we also have to register also at the Babolat Play Connect website also? Thanks

You can create an account via either the mobile app (available soon, you'll get an email) or via the website (with instructions in the email from babolatplay@babolat.com).

If anyone has specific problems or questions, email babolatplay@babolat.com

My order was placed yesterday. I will have it put in as a full set and hybrid with RPM over the next couple weeks. I'll get some feedback from the other guys in the office as well, as I'm an all poly fan.

Do you have to have data (Internet connection) on your phone to be able to use the Babolat Play racquet and app?

    Thanks!

I think it's more about Bluetooth. You have to pair the racquet to your phone via Bluetooth. As long as you can do that, it should use that connection to sync the data. Now viewing the global leader boards and some of that other stuff would require WiFi or a data connection I assume.

You can view your data on your phone (bluetooth) or plug your racquet into your computer (USB). You can save 150 hours of live tennis in the Play racket without downloading (all sessions marked by time/date). Everything is stored in "the cloud".

December 12, 2013. There is limited quantity and retailers will have the opportunity to pre-sell.

They are being loaded on the UPS truck as we speak. Ground shipping (tough to push for 2 day air with accounting when you're giving away a $399 racket).

That, you will need to as TW if I may say so. Daniel can tell us of release date, but sellers set dates of pre-order.

Be aware that most retailers are going to be limited to 10 frames each.....the larger online national account places like TW, TE and others will get a few more......but it's going to be quite limited.

Total number for North America is around 500 units!!! (I'm sure there is some ply in that number).

So if you want one - pre-order -

Babolat had a little get together in Boulder with selected retailers just recently........not a big secret there is a very limited supply.

What's cool is this is the first REAL change/break-thru??? in equipment in decades. Just think what was the last radical change in equipment that caught on and became the standard: 70s Prince w/oversize, 80s the change to graphite, 80s the Wilson Profile.........since then nothing really really new.

So IF this does take off don't be surprised to see everyone else try to copy and expand on it.......Bab's doing a great job on getting out in front and going for it.

Man, you guys are off today. There are 1500 frames at launch (Dec 12), with our second production run finished and en route from China.

There are Babolat Play specific dealers (TW is one).

    Hello Daniel,
Can you tell me if there has been a chance in the materials or manufacturing process of the ladies V-pro shoes? I have had at least 4 pair of these this year, and loved them. However my newest pair feels so much different. It is not breaking in on top like my pervious pairs and are much more uncomfortable.

I was also a huge fan of the now discontinued Ladies Drive shoe. This was by far the most light and comfortable shoe I ever had. Is there any plans to replace this shoe with a newer but similar model?

    Missy

Have you checked your spam or junk mail? All tracking info was sent from UPS last night or this morning, depending on when the package was processed.

Should I send Babolat Play an email?
