The Play app works perfectly on 4.4 so far. I'll record another session tonight but the ones I have already recorded can be analysed without any problems.

Can any of you "play playtesters" guys do me a favor and do a session with just bounces off the floor like probably most of you do before the serve and let me know if your racquet record it as forehand, backhand or does not register it at all (like it should be IMHO)

Anyone know any other way to check the racquet's battery percentage other than the flashing lights?

    Thanks!

Has anyone with an iPhone 5 been able to synch the racket?. I have the Testflight app, but it tells me there are no available builds.

i'm not positive, but i don't think it registers for these bounces because the bounce doesn't generate enough force to register. if a light bounce triggers the racquet to record, i would think bouncing the stringbed on a palm or knee would also record. however, when i tried bouncing the stringbed hard off my palm and knee and attempted to download, there was no data.

when you sync your racquet to your smartphone, there's an indicator for remaining racquet battery life.

yes, i have an iPhone 5 and have been able to sync.

Sounds like you are all having fun, glad the iphone 5 is working ok
as I will be using it extensively in 2014 with my coaching team.

I am all for players "feeling" their shots but giving them simple data and feedback that they alone can monitor their own training sessions will be most helpful as a learning tool. It is also measurable as they realise how few times they "middle" the ball.

As Daniel said, all your work with this , feedback etc will make it better. There have to be problems with the first device of this kind...

looking forward to 2014 & beyond.

Mine for sure records those bounces but NOT hand bounces probably vibration freq are different from the ball impact to hand impact but it still bothers me that it records ball bouncing before the serve as 25% forehand it just reduces your power average for forehand

Anyone else get an email saying your pulse is "slowing down" and you have 24 hours to log in and validate it? My last session was yesterday.... :O

I wasn't able to get enough sessions uploaded to get a PULSE score.

I am waiting for Babolat to email me a new app build to download on a different device. When I spoke to the support guy, he said he had to request that they send another build to my email.

Hopefully that will correct my issues. I have 4 sessions pending in the app but can't validate them. Still haven't had any luck going the PC route but I know they are working on it. Looking forward to making progress next week!

Daniel. do you think with quality control as it is it is possible to find a aero pro drive plus at flex around 67-68. i believe you play aero pro drive 2013, but youv never had any arm discomfort and find the sweetspot big

Just had a hit for 2 hours.
Was able to sync with iPhone 5, but

Split sessions in-between sets did not work.

Also, is the Pulse based on how frequent one plays?
    Thanks, Happy Thanksgiving.

Edit: Looking online, I see a change in the gap session graph. Is that the split session?

No worries. I've been a little frustrated with the test flight system as well. Even very low spam walls block it. Email me is the easiest. But Mad Dog has been clutch, I'm very thankful he was part of the test team.

There will be a survey system (with rewards for filling it out) but if you have the time to send detailed emails and screen shots directly to me dbecker@babolat.com, I'm constantly sending to the development team.

Thanks for being part of the process and I hope this racket makes tennis just a little more fun!

Currently, once you have tagged a session, it can not be deleted.

Would you like the ability to in future builds?

I have not had issues (but some people have). We don't index racquets by flex. In theory, they should all more or less the same ;) (also debated in the forums).

A big combination of frequency, ability to replicate specific shots, length of sessions, etc.

Yes would love to be able to since sometimes you record some sessions and "approve them" only to realize that maybe you did not need/want to tag them this way you can revert them as untagged. This would provide cleaner data at the end.

I also think the ability to edit a session once it's saved would be a valuable feature.

It's safe to say that putting the heat sleeve on the Play racquet to increase the grip size is safe. I just put mine on and it's working 100%. I followed Daniel's advice and that is to not leave the heat gun hovering above the cortex or the bottom of the handle for too long (just quickly brush over and back). Other than that, you should be fine. Hope this helped some of you guys.

Hey Daniel sorry to ask this if it's already been asked but I know how the babolat tungsten balance tape was taken down due to its poor adhesive qualities but I see that it's back up listed on TW site.

Is this a new version of it that has a stronger adhesive, or the same old non-sticky one?

sharing an email i sent babolat play and daniel

as i was going through my sessions yesterday, i was thinking how nice it would be if the Pure Drive Play could capture peak and low power figures of every session. currently it only shows an average. if it could capture and show peak power, you'd be able to see just how much power you hit that winner with. Right now if you smoke a shot, you can't really see how much harder it was hit because it's averaged in with the other strokes. not sure if this would be possible, but i figure if it's showing an average, it's got to be recording the individual values in order to calculate that average.

also would be nice to be able to edit and delete past sessions as well as assign sessions to different players. this could be especially useful for coaches. they could use a stick for all the students and assign student names to each session. the students and their parents can experience first hand how useful the the technology can be and would go out and buy their kids a Babolat Play racquet. not only would this be a great teaching tool, but also a great marketing tool to drive more sales.

when i hit w/ my friends, they all ask about the racquet especially as they see me turning it on. they usually want to try it out and i'm happy to oblige. w/ the ability to edit & delete sessions, i can tag or delete their hitting sessions to keep them separate from mine. again, i can show my friends how cool and useful the Play racquets are. again another free marketing opportunity for Babolat.

I finally had a chance to hit with it this weekend. it was fun(and easy) to download to my iPhone and see the results of my match. I found it to be very accurate. I wonder if it would be helpful at the end when you put in playing indoors or out and court surface if a notation for singles or doubles would be helpful. Certainly shot count and power levels would go down in doubles. Just a thought.

Finally got my racquet yesterday…no thanks to me enjoying an overseas vacation :)

I'll hit with it stock for a while and then consider grip and string changes. ATM, I'm having issues syncing on my macbook and finding the app for my iPhone. When I get back to work I will try my Windows based laptop and my work phone (android).

I'm thinking it would be great to be able to sync information on each changeover. That way you could have a really nice breakdown of when in the match you performed well (or not so well). Also, your coach could look at your stats during the match, instead of at the end of it.
