That is really awesome! Gonna be keeping our eyes out!
Question for @babolat official: I bought 2 x 18x20 pure strikes pre strung from the factory with black xcel 16g and I really enjoyed this string. When the frames needed re-stringing I bought a pack of the black xcel 16g (French open) TWICE and had it strung at 57lbs and 60lbs on each occasion, and both times this re-string felt NOTHING like the xcel that was pre-strung in the the frames?? Do you use a different type of xcel when factory stringing to the string sets sold in packs??
That's great Daniel.
I wish there were a channel for us to acquire used pro items. (ie. charity auction, etc) I've always wanted to acquire a signed Li Na Pure Drive. I've tried to use her (Li Na) as a role model for my daughter since she (my daughter) is such a loyal Pure Drive fanatic.
Sometimes a symbol can inspire a junior athlete when the going gets tough (which seems to happen too often) and remind them of the virtues of being a Champion in defeat and victory.
IMHO, Babolat has received bargains by endorsing Li Na & Caroline Wozniacki. I've use their virtuous examples with my daughter too many times to count!
Twitter or Facebook?
Why does Jersy Jenowicz still use the Babolat Pure drive 2012 racket ? from Halle live feed right now, he is still using the 2012 pure drive..............
Is the cosmetic of the new Aeropro drive 2015/2016 black and neon green/yellow like the picture on reddit?
Great idea to give away Nadal spec (Monte Carlo) aeropro black rackets! Fantastic paint job!
he prefers the 2012 Pure Drive (I believe it is a Roddick)
I'll let you guys know
The factory strung frames were initially done at 55 lbs. However, with shipping, time on shelf, etc. the actual tension was likely 40-52.
What about the strings did you like from the factory vs. store? That will give a better indication.
it's not a very popular racket.
Tenniswarehouse.com also says he uses a PDR.
I have confirmed it is a Roddick
I have both the Roddick and the PC95+ and like them both for different reasons.
Roddick-go to racket for competition and matches.
PC 95+- for just hitting around, warming up and working on my ball striking, plus you have to supply the power and is a lot less wear and tear on the joints. Sweet spot is smaller to.
Even though it has XCel printed on the factory strung racquets. I believe it's actually just a synthetic gut of some sort. It is NOT XCel!!!
Thanks Daniel. I have a demo of both the PC95+ and PC Tour on their way from TW Europe. Excited to give them both a try.
thanks for the comparison. Useful to know.
I checked with the team. The string that says Xcel is actually Xcel. With shipping from factory, to warehouse, to store...it can be a couple months since the racket was strung. This greatly changes the performance of the string.
which string do you think is most powerful polyester you sell right now ?
Polyesters are powerful. Of the ones we sell, probably RPM Blast or RPM Team. But that's a personal anecdote.
If power is a concern, a hybrid with VS Gut or Origin is a much better option.
Thank you. I am sorry but what I really meant was I am trying to get more power while maintaining same massive spin that poly provides. so I thought only way to do that is to get a poly that is most powerful....
Try gut poly hybrids.
gut too expensive. I have to restring every 8 hours of play.
BHB7, black widow, t1 firewire
have you tried lowering tension or 18 gauge?
Why has the Pure Control paint job been virtually taken away from all players ? Giorgi was the last to go. Don't they want to sell any ? I remember reading there's something new being tried, Strike Control or something but it doesn't make sense to have the same paint job as the Strikes ? Although it's not a very popular racquet as you stated above I play PC 95+'s and love them. Thanks.
What is the difference between xcel and origin?
working on a new frame: Pure Strike CTRL
Xcel plays softer. Origin feels "crisper" and has more power.
What is the expected timeline for the release of the Pure Strike CTRL?
not in 2016...still fine tuning specs
What 18 gauge ?? Origin is not made in 18 G, neither is Xcel
Were glad to have you on here Daniel. Your insight is really cool to hear about. thanks again for being so transparent
Do you think Babolat will announce in July when the new Pure Aero line will be available? From what I've read on this forum, it sounds like around the U.S. Open or late 2015 is the tentative timeline.
I'm more curious about when will the current APDs go on sale.
The prices initially do not usually drop to the extent that Wilson racquets do. Depending on how well the current APD is selling, they may initially only drop $20 for the first couple months.
That's disappointing news. I would definitely take couple more apd+ if they drop to what current 2012 pure drive's price
18g of RPM for your all poly set up
thanks for loving tennis as much as we do
Long time Babolat fan and glad to have your insight on the forums.
I need to hybrid because my arm problems. If you can make more powerfull 18 G Origin,, that would work great.............
thanks for the feedback, I'll send it to the team
My pleasure. Glad to be a part of this crazy group of tennis fans.
Pure Aero specs being posted soon by chance?
