In 2008, as well as picking Nadal to win Wimbledon, Borg also said that Djokovic was his second favourite for Wimbledon over Federer. That didn't turn out so well. Djokovic got Safinated ;)

Borg picked Federer in the 2007 Wimbledon final, as well, so he's got a pretty good record with predictions.

I remember Borg saying Federer waa going to win to wi the 08 French Open final the night before on Games Set and Mats and he won all of 4 games, and all the through the 08 Wimbledon he said Nadal was going to win and a day before the final he changee his mind and chose Federer. Borg is pretty awful with his predictions.

I think Murray is just going to buy one of Borg's Wimbledon trophies.

Borg only uses them as ashtrays and a place to store his coke anyway.

I remember that one. Epic fail on that occasion. I don't know how anyone went against Nadal at that tournament considering the dominant form he was in. Nadal was never more aggressive, more mobile and more relentless than he was at the 2008 French Open. I remember being certain of a Nadal victory, with the only debate being whether it would be in straight sets for the first time. Never expected 6-1, 6-3, 6-0, though.

Did he? When was this? I thought Borg was always predicting Nadal at 2008 Wimbledon, because of how well he was playing and how close he had come to winning Wimbledon the previous year.

    I don't :)

Seriously, I just hope neither Nadal nor Djokofic win it. 4 different GS winners in one year sounds pretty good to me.

Here is hoping that he is 100% right again!!!!!!

It's Federer's turn to pick up a slam. He showed he can still do it, and Nadal has won 4 out of the last 5, so he has won a lot recently. He can take a step back. He can win more later. The game needs someone else to win to keep it exciting.

However, I still really want Murray to win a slam, and he looks really good.

    For me it does....

And I hope Nadal destroys himself in the first week, and can't make it to the semis.

I am actually hoping to watch some of his matches this year at Wimbledon. I have tickets to Centre and No.1. Hoping to catch some of Murray, Djokovic and Federer too.

Are you awake at 3 in the morning again, talking about Rafa? Don't you sleep?

Just asking, because I know the time now in California is just past 3.

He's secretly moved into Rafa's villa at Wimby.

He's typing this from the closet.

(Borg predicted Federer would win the 2008 French Open. Does this mean Federer will only win 4 games in the Wimbledon Final?)

Dont worry about Rafa guys hell be there in the final again.

If he gets into trouble in the first week by some low ranked qualie hell just do a repeat of what he did last year twice and pull through. ;)

"In the past it was two guys, maybe three guys who were rivals, now we have four guys and it's unbelievable. It's great for tennis. Everyone can beat everyone, so it's going to be very interesting this year. Can you imagine the end of the second week if you have those four players left in the semi-finals? It will be the most thrilling Wimbledon for many years." - Borg

I have to agree, the new era is so much stronger and interesting to watch.

I thought so Batz, from what you were saying recently. I thought I'd missed the draw or something then! Looks like Bud's excitement is getting the better of him. :)

I didnt know Borg picked Federer to win the 2008 French final. Perhaps he was on a heavy drug overdose that day if that was the case. Nadal was playing his most domineering tennis ever at that years French and Federer was in total crap form and only made the final due to the pathetic clay court field today and Djokovic (who would have probably spanked him at that years French the way both were playing) being in the other half. Times Nadal was not playing anywhere near that level and Federer playing much better, Federer still didnt come at all close to winning.

He did not pick Roger to win 2008 FO final you troll, so stop spewing more nonsense and insulting Borg for something he didn't say.

Borg believes Nadal the one to beat at 2008 French and Wimbledon

Borg has made some good and some bad predictions, like everybody else. It's funny how some people expect excellent players from the past to be just as excellent at predictions and then attack them when they're wrong.

I have been touting Novak since he first hit the pro scene, I like Nadal as well, and enjoy Federer's games also. I like a hell of a lot of tennis players to be honest, on court off court antics are another story "Fedal!".
