Guessing this is from late 70's. Interesting how much has been made of Borg's speed, and I generally agree with all that, but here Borg is bested in a sprint by champion Swedish skier Ingemar Stenmark. (Wayne Gretzky actually wins, and Borg runs barefoot!)

In the lineup at about 1:03 in the video Stenmark is standing to Borg's left. They have their game faces on, and don't exchange a word. Competitive, much? ;-)

    The more things change... ;-)

I've always thought it funny that Borg was promoted to be such a fast runner. It's a completely different skill set then the type of speed and agility used for court coverage in tennis (which he clearly was one of the best at). I would think that video would put a stake into the idea he was fast enough to be a track champion as no one in that group would have anything approaching world class sprinting speed

I suspect Borg was badly hung over from partying with Vitas and the "pool girls"! ;-)

I've always heard of (but have never seen) Borg's participation in a similar type of "sports stars" event that was on tv back then where he did beat an Olympic track star in some event.

Steeplechase, maybe? Which would be a bit ironic given how bad Borg was in the hurdles during the "World Sport Masters" thing.
