Boris Becker Pulse is a multi. I know all the rage in strings is poly, but have any of you tried the BB Pulse? Any comments?

Saw pulse on sale on tw and got a couple of sets. Played great, good pop and spin. Broke after about 11 hours of play (4 hours worth of doubles, 4 hours of singles, 3 hours of just hitting.) Great performance for the sale price but I wouldn't pay full price for it.

Anyone else has tried BB Pulse?! What are the thoughts?

I have the same questions regarding BB Bomber (both original and NYC) but no one seems to be using those either!

Seems like a bargain at one third the price of Gamma Professional (my favorite multi)!

Just talked to my Volkl/BB source, he told me that BB Pulse is the same as Volkl PowerfiberII. It is a crisp multi, as all of BB/Volkl/Klip multis are. They don't produce a soft/gummy Tecnifibre multi, unfortunately. Strung properly, it will not go soft/loose. If you hit flat, it can go a little dead before it breaks.

Bomber is the same as V-Pro, which is a smooth Cyclone. Bomber NYC is just black Bomber. I have not used either, but generally, the black dye makes the string play stiffer.

I think I tried Pulse. Look in my multis thread in post #1 for the review.

I find it stiff and spinny but still quite comfortable in a crisp way.

I tried this in main with Gamma Polylon in crosses. Didn't last long; it's the fastest string I have ever broken.

Pulse can be named the "least performing string" in the Boris Becker line.

    Not good for hard-hitters.

meaning it's low powered? or breaks very fast? Is it a crispy string? Debating whether I should get a couple of sets. @ $6.5/set it's very tempting.

If you're a hard hitter, it won't last long. I promise.

Yes, it's crisp but I have a deal for you.

On the bay, this seller is selling multiple sets of Boris Becker Bomber NYC 17 string for $6.5 a set as well. It's the better string. :)

TW has the Bomber (NYC or regular) for $4.50 a set if you buy 2 sets or more. Great deal but it's a poly so might not be for people who are looking for comfort.

    What? They do? Dang, I could've saved $2... :(

    It's not a poly, it's co-poly. :)

But the black dye does make it a stiffer co-poly.
