Any news on the Bosworth Collection racquets? Weren't some supposed to be up by today?
I do not know about the collection, but TW tends to update the site around 4-5:00 p.m. CT on Fridays.
Okay, thanks. I'll look back tonight.
Any news? I'd love to get my hands on a Bosworth Prestige!!
This is news to me? I never heard anything about more Bosworths, but I'll definitely be keeping my eyes open.
Take a look at this thread below: http://tt.tennis-warehouse.com/showthread.php?t=117198 Starts off about Vantage racquets but turns into a "vintage" racquet thread.
Thanks for the link Capt. Willie, I somehow missed it. This is going to be a rare opportunity to purchase some really great racquets from the past. Unfortunately I got a feeling the prices will be considerably higher this time around to discourage @$$holes from buying Bosworth's and reselling them at a big profit. Greed ISN'T good!
We have some stock but it will be a couple of weeks before we inventory and make available.
Please, Chris, please, make this a top priority. A lot of us are desperately waiting for them to be available.
We have some sticks being imaged and might be ready to roll late next week, but most likely the week after.
Thanks.....keeping a lookout.
Will there be any Fischer, Prince, or Yonexes in this batch? If so which ones?
I am hoping for a vacuum pro. Oh please...
Please be a SRD Tour 90, I beseech you. I must have one, or a Max 200g.
Some SV PS 85's would be nice. Nothing wrong with dreaming I guess...
its totally possible and maybe even reasonable. now that Sampras has officially switched to the 6.0 90, there is no need for Wilson to keep the remaining St Vincent stock (if they still have any left that is) but I think they do.. call it a hunch, and we also know that Nate used to work for or with Bosworth, so there is also another possible connection there. we'll see
Any possibility of some Bosworth news this week?
Good point, I thought about that myself. Maybe I'm not dreaming afterall? I bet they would be sold out in about 15 minutes. I'm pretty sure Pete used a 5/8, just happens to be my size too.
Maybe tomorrow (Friday)? Keeping fingers crossed.
any news? Looking forward to seeing these.
I'm sorry to report that we've not made much progress on getting the Bosworth Collection web ready. The hope was to have some racquets available by the end of this week, but it is looking more like the end of the month now.
Sorry for the delay, and we'll do all we can to speed up the process.
Hey Chris, can you at least toss us a bone here and name a few models that will be availiable? (I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas.)
Is the Bosworth collection old racquets that Bosworth bought, but have been sitting in storage? Or, did Bosworth buy the molds for the racquets and manufacture them?
I believe the frames were made when they were current but put into storage after the respective players switched to different frames. From the "Bosworth Collection," I had a Pro Cynetic 1 (Arias) that had a round white sticker with specs, except it was just mass and balance. I guess, there was no swingweight yet at that time?
BUMP!!! Any news yet?
Bump....yeah, put me down for a pair of the best 3 of anything you get.
Is there any chance that we'll know more today, seeing that it's the end of the month?
I'm starting to think it will be the end of NEXT month.
Sorry guys, but this is taking longer than any of us anticipated. Please bear with us. We hope to have a selection posted no later than April 15. Don/Tennis Warehouse
This Bosworth topic got me thinking about one of my old racquets that I would love to track down. Maybe somebody can help me identify it: it was a Yamaha, late eighties / early nineties, neon green (also came in neon red/orange), extremely light & flexible. I think it was called Ceramix EX (?) but I can't remember. The grommets broke and I couldn't get replacements because it was a discontinued racquet. I bought the racquet from Value City in '90 or '91. For all I know the racquet might have been considered junk at the time (hence being in VC), but I loved it. Granted I was only 17 at the time and only playing for a few years. I might pick one up now and think it's crap. In any case I'd love to track one down or at least figure out the model name. Anybody have a clue?
back to the top of the list
Watch to the end.
Okay so its taking longer fine, but why publish in Tennis Mag. there is a collection to be viewed or purchased. That advertisement should not be there. In my line of work you would be let go for a gaff like that.
Still have some Donnay and Rossignol racquets from VC back in the day. $9.99, had Lacoste racquets too. Curious if Shottensteins in Columbus had a better selection?
TW must be happy for not needing to answer to the man, and in the latest vlog, there's a glimpse of some Snauwaert frames. I, for one, am happy to see for a change someone making sure to get things right before placing product for sale. Would you prefer to receive a frame with a hastily-wrapped grip, ill-fitted grommets, or not close to your preferred specs because there were still some forgotten frames in a box in back? These frames are decades old, so is another month going to kill you?
Woot, I have always wanted a few woodies........and a cat.....**** it, I'm getting a cat in the next week......oh right, woodies too........*mumbles* come of Volt, focus......
I saw more than woodies. Graphites.
Although the real question is goatee or no goatee:
Not a picture of racquets from the collection.
Can any of you identify some of these?
I see some: Snauwaert Brian Gottfried Autographs, Snauwaert Brian Gottfried mids, Spalding GC-20, and a Snauwaert standard size graphite racquet or a standard size wood and graphite racquet I can't tell from this far away.
BUMP! BUMP! BUMP! Any news yet?
I'm almost done with the next VLOG and Chris goes into detail about all the racquets on the wall (and some that you couldn't see in the frame). The next one should be posted at the end of today or early tomorrow. Sorry I can't give you more information but I thought this would at least hold you over
You're damn good picking out the GC-20s - kudos. The Snauwaert wood-comp mids I could make out (with red stripe around throat) look more to me like the later-model LaGrandes that Mecir used into the late 80s. If you can find any clips of the great Miloslav say in his 1986 US Open semi vs. Becker, he was definitely playing with that mid that's one the wall.
The initial Bosworth racquets are ready to go. We will be adding them to the site on Friday.
...and let the games begin regarding what Chris means by "initial"...
Good thing I'm waiting to buy reels, I just might want a few of those. Thanks for getting them TW! (Yes, I know I order weekly, I always forget one or two things)
Most of what was visible in the last VLOG will be available. There were some Slazenger Ceramics in there, but we don't have many so they will not be available immediately.
We are setting up a special Bosworth liquidation section for some of the used racquets and those where we only have say 5 or less. This is where the Slazenger racquets will go.
Thanks! I remember the GC-20 being a pretty popular racquet at my club back in the old days.
Could you post a link to the site here please?
