I may have an opportunity to try a Bow natural gut 18 g.

I always use natural guts in the mains and use something else in the cross.

The only problem is that Bow is only 37.5 ft.

Do you think it will make 2 sets of mains for Prokennex 7g? It has 16X20 string pattern.

Would hate to cut it only to find out it is not long enough.

i wouldnt recommend that string unless you have never broken a string before...their guages run thin...their 16 is like most 17's...18 would be off the hook

My experience with Bow Brand is that it breaks easily. After one set of playing. Could be that I may have made a mistake while stringing. Could also be that I just got a bad set. But I've strung BDE, Babolat, Kilp gut before with no problems. I've also heard from others that Bow has this problem.

i've had mixed experiences with bow brand. most good, just 2 sets that frayed early, really early. haven't really hit with bow since they jacked up their prices a few years ago

i'd agree with Mojo. The gauges do run thin. 18g bow will not last long at all. i used 17g in my 18x20 and durability was just OK.

bow gut durability is just as good as VS, BDE, TONIC....
    found LEGEND more durable...
while the ARMOURPRO is the best.....

Well, usually I stay away from extremely thin gut, but I have had very good experience recently with Legend 18 g (1.20 mm), so I thought maybe Bow 18 g (1.10 mm) could also hold up quite well.

Maybe it will, maybe not. The feedback on TW suggests that it is quite durable.
