Any British juniors? Post your ratings, tourney results and *big wins* etc here

I'm a 9.1 (got injured for two years so the LTA killed my rating :( ) and play in the Suffolk area

    I'm a 9.2, but i play 6.2ish standard, i've never played a tournament, cos of work etc.

A couple of big wins, against 6.1's/5.2's :D

Im 8.2, and play around 6.2/6.1 standard. Im an assistant coach at david lloyd. Dont really get time to play many tournys. I play Yorkshire league and Mens Division 1 doubles and also juniors in the summer. I play mostly doubles.

why are you all sayin you play above your level. apart from the OP who has a good reason, the rest of you would be at the rating you play at if you were at that level. s_andrean-how have you got wins vs 5.2's 6.1's if you've never played a tournament!! at that level they cannot play matchplays so tournaments or ariels ar the only way to get matches!! i would like to find out some of your names so i can see if you telling the truth on the lta website!!!

i am 7.2, play at 6.2ish level, i have evidence of this on lta website, got close to 2 5.2s in summer. search ben west if you wish!!

not meaning to sound accusatory, just find it annoying if you guys are saying you play at a higher level than you are just to sound better amongst others. if you are telling the thruth, may i c some evidence ;)

    >Did you not think that people may hit at a high level but not have the time or money to get around and play tournaments. I dont have time to get around and play tournis with work, colledge etc but still hit at quite a high level. Never judge a player by their rating,as the people with high ratings generally play loads of matches. I know people who have a rating of 9.2 or 8.1 etc who would kill 4.1s etc. they just dont play in LTA ratings matches and big tournaments. I think most the people on this board tell the truth about their level, so if somebody says they are good you should beleive them.

if you'd been able to get yourself up to 8.1 or watever but you play at a higher level, you should be able to get yourself to the level you at. you can appeal to the lta you know!!

ps if theyre beating 4.1's with ease, they should be ale to get on to some british tour events, i know a 3.2 who is playing these events

I played in a few tournaments last year and the LTA gave me the rating which is why i have it in the first place.

I go to Copleston school - they have a tennis programme there which is good. We have a match against Colchester on wednesday which should be fun.

*P.S* I don't know what rating I am now - Last time I checked i was a 9.1. Which means I'm not in the boundaries to be moved down - so I guess I'm still a crappy 9.1

    How do you check?

i am a 15 year old 4.2...ur all tellin a load of bollocks by saying you play above your rating cos either: you had a wonder match, the higher rated guy had a shocker and wasn't concentrating or you hit with people of that rating and don't play at that level in matches.

bludiamond, to verify i play above my rating this weekend i played an ariel event and lost in 3 sets to a 5.2, you may say he played badly, but he approached me after saying i play well above 7.2. also the next day, he played a 6.2 and won quite easily.

8.2, I think the ratings system is rubbish to be honest as I can't go up as I there is only 10.2 to 9.1 I can play in tournys then it jumps to wayy higher like 5.2's. Of course this is only because of some "quite" bias reffing.

Well I'm in the process (waiting for parents credit card no.) of signing up to LTA, and have won 4 of the 5 matches I have played which I guess puts me at 10.1....

Mine is 9.1 and should go to 8.2 next rating change. I only got to 9.2 this winter but in the summer season i won 20 matches out of 21, shame they dont do double jumps anymore. By the way, i live in Stoke, like 30 mins away from you :D

When I posted I didn't realise this was in the junior section - I'm 35!

Sorry about that. My LTA no. is 11473 in case you're still interested.

Good luck in your tournament...let us know how it goes. Don't rush your shots or try to finish the points prematurely.

Yes. I am 59 in my county(Hampshire), But i have been playing mostly matchplays wich counts towards the rating and not the ranking. I have only played 5 tournaments that count towards the ranking, So i should really be better than 59. Sorry if it sounds like i am boosting(i dont know if this is the right english word :neutral:please tell if it is not).

I am ranked 3rd in my county, 8.1 rated. I hit at a lot higher standard than that, just have problems in applying it to my matchplay as I havnt been playing that many matches however over the summer I did beat two 6.2's, a 7.1 and a 5.2. I also lost against 4 8.1's so it evens out I guess.
