Does anyone have any details on the Bryan Brother's racquets? Strings? Are they really using the Wilson Surge?

According to their website (bryanbros.com) they are using Surge racquets and Technifibre NRG 17 string.

Looks like a surge to me on T.V.

He threw his racket, Roddick did too... maybe someone on the forum got it and they can review on it :p

I have seen them and their racquets up close in Memphis. They are CERTAINLY NOT using the current Surge available from Wilson. My guess is the 5.0 or 6.1 is more likely what they are using.

Yes it's funny how the racquet co's get the pros to paint job their racquets so they can sell their game improvement sticks.

I looks like 5.0, because the W on top of the grip is flat like the 5.0 and the same with the beam. Vadan25 is right about the strings.

P.S. Their 5.0s are the Stretch version and I've heard from the old post that their string pattern is a 18x19 or 18x20.

THeyre suppose to be paintjobs of the surge( but is really a HPS 5.0).

When the Bryan Bros won their doubles match in Davis Cup, they threw there racquet into the crowd. Wouldn't it be awesome if the person who got it gave us the stats

They used Classic 6.1's when I played this satellite with them years ago. I wouldn't be surprised if they still use them. The longer ones.

While we are on the subject. Keifer was using a Surge painted 5.0 or 6.1 while in Memphis as well. For those who somehow might be interested Fredrick Neiemeyer(sp.?) was using a stock Surge. It's not to hard to tell the paint jobs from the real thing up close.

Looking at a photo from Davis Cup and watching on TV, they clearly are not using the Surge. Looks like the HPS 5.0 (can't tell if stretch version). The 5.0 was a great doubles racket. Don't think it is available any more, hence the paint job so Wilson can sell rackets.

It is a 5.0 stretch i know the cousins of the brian bros and he stated that is in fact what they are using. Hope that solves your question!

Last year they played the 5.0 stretch painted like the Surge.

I have played with Mike Brian on a Pro-Am doubles tournament of Daimler-Chrysler. I am playing the 5.0 stretch by myself and he told and showed me that his racket was the same. On the racket was a technifibre string.

They are very nice and pleasant peoples. It was great fun to meet them and play tennis with them

False Advertising??? They're endorsing Wilson. They can paint their rackets any way they want. Agassi's name is on about half of Head's rackets, even the junior rackets. From old photos I've seen, I doubt Agassi EVER used a junior racket. Why do people worry so much about how pro's paint their frames?

The brothers can't be using a 5.0, the pattern on the 5.0 is 16x20, their's is 18x20. They started with the 6.1 stretches and I doubt they've switched to anything else.
