Bryans simply are over-rated. I wish you would compare F/F with some all time great doubles team :)

No, because not only are the bryans doubles specialist, but his return of serve would be the easiest poach for any of the top teams in doubles.

It was a real eye-opener for me to see the Bryan Brothers getting schooled in the Davis Cup match against Croatia. Now, everyone has a bad match, and the Bryans were not at their best.

But two good "singles" players -- Ancic and Ljubicic -- proved that a big part of the game, even in doubles, is serving and returning. Once the point got past the return or first volley, the scales tipped in favor of the Bryans. But neither Bryan had the return skills to seriously threaten either Ancic or Ljubicic with a break of serve.

And while Bob's serve is as good as any singles player, Mike's can break down against good returners.

Do you really think a pair of Federers would have trouble returning -- and breaking -- against Mike Bryan?

I think F/F would win. Fed has the volleys and skills to be a great doubles player.

But I see what some people are saying. maybe the Feds would lose b/c fed hasn't practiced doubles and would take time to adjust.

After Federer has adjusted, however, i don't see any way the bryans would win.

It was years ago, a motivated Fed just completely dominated the doubles match against the American team. It was just ridiculously, everything he touched presented problems if it wasn't a clean winner.

When did Fed and Mirka tie the knot? The Bryans would just hit to Mirka everytime and win easily.

Of course if we go by what y'all say Federers would win. Bryans can't beat two people who know EXACTLY what the other will do. However, if we say that the Federers are same skill level but not telepathic then I say Bryans. Federer is amazing but the Bryans grew up playing doubles together. Everything about them is for doubles. Bob even says they focused on learning cleaner strokes as opposed to just pounding on the ball.

Also, remember that doubles IS different. Federer is amazing but the Bryans are too solid. (And yes, I know someone will say "Oh yeah. So solid they lost to *insert name*. Even Federer loses sometimes)
