i'm looking for a set of bumper guards/grommet replacement for the prince original graphite 4 stripe version. i know this might be a stretch but i thought i'll give it a shot here. if any of you have exprimented with other bumper guards/graommets from other frames that are currently available, please let me know. i would hate to see the frame wear down to where it's no longer playable.

You can't find the grommets on the bay?

I have a set of grommets for sure but not sure about bumper guard.

You're in vancouver though and shipping there sucks.

I have a set of grommets, but not sure about bumper guard at home.

If you were more local, I could send it to you on the cheap but I'm not sure about sending to canada.

If you're talking about mid 4 stripe, the current Tour version of grommet set will fit 4 stripe frame. I know because I've done it. I'm pretty sure it'll work with OS also.

I don't see any grommet sets for the tour version, just the Graphite Original in both 90 and 110 sizes. Are these the ones you say won't fit?

I have 2 sets for the Oversize, but I haven't used them yet. I hope you're wrong about them not fitting. The number on the package matches what I was told from a Prince rep when TW was out of them last year.

BTW the Oversize now has a 10 day waiting period 'til they get them in again.

    junbug,

I take it that you've tried to use the current grommet set on your 4 stripe and found out that it does not fit??

I have actually replaced on the 90 frame and it wasn't any problem at all.

I have 4 stripe OS also, and I was checking last night to see if all the holes line up with a replacement set. As far as I can see, all the holes appear to line up ok. Of courase I haven't actually tried to place it yet. I hope you're mistaken on this one.

I just replaced the grommet set on my 4 stripe OS. It fit perfectly.
It was one of the easiest one to replace, so no worries.

actually, it depends which version of the 4 stripe OS you have. i replaced the grommet set on 2 4 stripe POGs. one went right in w/ no problems at all. the other one had some alignment issues. the holes were off enough that I ended up having to cut the grommet strip in a few spots to get it work.

    mad dog,

Do you remember which version you had problems with?

I thought there were only two versions of 4 stripe; one that is printed 110 on the hoop and another one with oversize printed on the same area. I have both and replacement grommet fit both of those just fine.

Maybe there was a third version that I'm not familiar with ???
