Does anybody have any new info on the new version? I have asked before. We are past the supposed release date. The only reason I ask is that I need 2 asap and would prefer the newer graphic but not enough to wait another 3 weeks. Anybody have an update?

    Rabbit,

I know you are in the midst of a stick change but didn't you have 5 on order?

Yes I did, do, and they haven't come in. They've been on order for over two weeks. I don't know what the deal is.

I don't think TW can do anything to speed up Volkl's delivery process. If the rackets aren't in channel, TW can't get them there...

Can't TW just whip up a batch in the back room?

It would be nice if they updated the product copy as well, since even before this new release it only referenced the mid.

But still, very cool to see the new look and the fact that they're still producing this sexy thang.

Is it my infertile imagination or does the grip look more square?

It has finally arrived! The black looks great. The extra $10 over the yellow model is slightly cheesy (cosmetic change only I HOPE), but I can live with that. I am getting this racquet because I tried my friend's C10, and I loved the feel of this stick. The pace on my groundstrokes was wicked, and I had no trouble swinging away and keeping it in. I also had some shoulder problems last summer after demoing a Pure Drive (no knock on Babolat- it just isn't right for my 36 year-old arm). I know the C10 is arm friendly, but do any of you have advice on a good arm friendly multifilament string? I want to order the new C10 soon, so any advice is appreciated. I was considering X-One Biphase @ 16 and NRG2 @16.

Just about any string in a C10 is going to end up being arm-friendly. I've had good success and no arm issues with the following in the C10:

    1) Iso-Speed Control
    2) Gamma Syn 18/Enduro 18
    3) Gosen OG Micro

I'm going to string up some Gamma Pro 18 in one frame and full Enduro 18 in another in the next few days and will try to remember to report back.

Thanks for the info on the strings. I'll look forward to your report on the Gamma Pro and Enduro strings.

Yep. Love the black. Some yellow overgrip might be a cool addition. I like the fact that Volkl is still making these great sticks. It seems a bit strange that there is no C10 information on Volkl's website. I suppose they are trying to promote the DNX stuff and new Becker 11 line, but hopefully this means they will make the C10 for a few more years.

She's a beauty......makes all of those fancy over-hyped, over-promoted, overgimmicked and overpaid (paid players) Wilsons look silly and its ten years old......should be on the short list of all-time sticks.

    Litmstr10,

For what it is worth, over the years, I have strung my C10's with NRG2-17 with great success. During the the past 2 year's, however, I have opted to use VS Team 17. I just needed a bit more power.

    Ed Lee,

Thanks for the tip on the NRG2-17. I was going to select the 16 gauge for durability, but I think I will give the 17 a try. Thanks again!

You know what I absolutely love in my C-9s? Ektelon Power Play at 57 lbs.

Better than anything else that I have tried, even gut.

Does it have a box beam and is it really low-medium power?

At your earliest convenience, please let us know all about your comparative experiences. Hopefully you might be able to confirm that the amazing flex and feel of the original C10 Pro 98 remains the same. :)

Your findings could influence my decision on whether to buy the new black anniversary edition.

    C-10 new vwesion arrived...preliminary assesment

Got my new C-10's today. Have not hit with them yet but some observations:

The Black almost doesn't look right after all these years with the bumble bee

The stick is now labeled 98 sq in's instead of 630 cm's

The Made in China is now screened into the throat instead of on a sticker inside the right frame spar

On the gram scale the old and new C-10 were exactly 337 grams

I originally thought the pallet felt big and had a wider flare at the base of the handle but once I re-wrapped the grip tighter it was pretty close to my heavily used and slightly smaller feeling old C-10.

I called TW to verify some of this and of course the person who answered was clueless. Once I got a "supervisor" he said it was identical in every way to the old model. Volkl didn't want to tamper with the frame other than graphics because it was still a good seller. He did note that they had 2 of the old C-10's left and then TW was going to only stock the black one.

I will report on Sunday after I hit...

OK Rabbit, so how do the new ones compare?

I switched away from the C10 Pro years ago, to the Tour10MP, thinking it was "new and improved". As much as I loved the T10MP, it's been downhill ever since, so perhaps time to revisit the C10 Pro...
