Can anyone remember the last time Roddick hit his forehand this well?

    I'd say 2004/2005 probably. He'll probably go right back to hitting it like a woman again soon enough though.

    He certainly had some pace in those forehands I haven't see before. It threw Nadal off.

    In terms of effectiveness maybe summer 09.

    In terms of pure pace and style, you would have to go back to USO 07

    I think maybe the pace was that ridicolous..hmm..i'd say Cincy 2004..in USO he started to play those loopy FH and thats the reason he lost to PimPim.
    Dubai 08 ?? Kidding me ?? He hit 2-3 massive FH and that was it..
    USO 07? - Yes, he played superb match against Fed, but he didnt play smart. He just tried to blast every ball. He did hit his FH hard in that match, but not nearly as hard as yesterday the game 4:3 2nd set.

    /Edit: I mean that FH with what he broke Nadal yesterday to go up 5:3 was probably 110mph or something..he did hit 107MPH FH to Federer in Madrid last year, but i think he did hit 115-120 MPH forhands in 2004.

    Against Cillic at the AO this year in sets 3 and 4 when he went for broke to shorten points because of his shoulder problem, although I haven't seen him hit such powerful and angled inside out forehands since 03/04.

    i cant remember when i have seen those styled forehands it felt like such a pleasure to watch that, in 03 when he beat federer in canada ot cincy whatever it was man was he on fire.

    USO 04 he hit big. Its just that Johannsen played out his mind, along with Roddick not having a plan B.

    As for USO 07, he beats any other player in the world, if he played like that. I mean, Federer was on fire.

    I think Roddick played great against Nadal, who completely fell apart in the last 2 sets. I also didn't see Roddick scratch and adjust himself so much in yesterday's match - so maybe he focussed more and used some Cruex before the match

    There was nothing Nadal could do once Roddick switched on, between the serve and the forehand it's like getting run over by a truck.

    he hit it well in the 2nd, but then I started seeing some more errors as well in the 3rd set. Too bad nadal wasn't able to hang with him a bit longer in the 3rd set (should have put that volley away).

    He hit it very well in Wimbledon, though maybe not as good as this. Andy himself admits that this was a bit lucky "I was taking ridiculous cuts at the ball and they were going in". On another day, those balls may well go out.

    I agree. He started to hit them with more pace but they were still on the spinny side, nowhere near the hard and flat forehands he used to hit

    He hit a 109 mph inside out forehand, the hardest inside out forehand I have ever seen was a 110 mph Nadal forehand at Indian Wells this year

    Monfils has hit i believe a 118mph forehand....
