I've been tempted to start playing paddle tennis. It looks fun, fast-paced, and I'm thinking this would help my net game for tennis.

My net game currently is shaky. Some days I make great hustle plays and other days I'm hitting it out or into the net. I have an all-court game and I have the mindset to go to the net in both singles and doubles play.

I'm curious to hear from anyone that plays both paddle tennis and tennis. The paddle racquets are quite expensive and weigh more than tennis racquets... WOW! I see a set of two wood racquets for $45 at one site. Are there other types of paddle racquets besides wood? If so, is it worth it to pay more instead of using the wood racquets? Thanks.
