I saw Tomic play vs an underrated Seppi and beat him after a grueling first set tie breaker. I guess Kevin Anderson is the favorite going in but for sure Tomic can win it.

Anderson played very poorly at the beginning with his movement and his forehand below average.

On yesterday's form and on Tomic's superior tennis nous, I wouldn't bet against Tomic.

He should but he was really struggling with the heat yesterday and the forecast is even worse today + extra humid today in Sydney

It would be nice for him to pick up his 1st title just before AO.

Tomic said he was struggling with dizziness in the semi-final caused by eating too close to match time, so we'll see if it really is heat in the final.

It does sound like he pigged out. I wonder what is the appropriate time to eat and exactly what?

Its definitely not the one and a half hour prior to the match that Tomic gave himself, as it does not work for me.

    Well played.

Interesting matchup; Anderson is only 1-1 in finals himself.

Fed, Nadal, and Murray all lost their first final; Djokovic won his.

It is actually quite cool now here in Sydney. We were expecting to get burnt but it is now a relaxing breeze. The weather will not be a factor to worry for both players tonight.

Yeah odd isn't it- 37 degrees forecast and it's barely 20 degrees now. I'm quite close to the Olympic park and it's very windy which might actually favour Tomic's more slice and dice than Anderson's agression

It's good to see Tomic come into some form, and I believe he can win it.

Not an overly impressive win, but Tomic is playing a good deal better than he was a year ago so he's a top 30 player, but it will take him another eighteen months to be top 10.

Federer was ranked number 12 in the world when he was Tomic's age.
