The Slams are still worth a ton of points. He needs to break through to have any shot. Novak doesn't need much to go YE #1 again. And he's clearly back on top. But Zverev can win 4 Masters and make things interesting.

Some point after USO 2019 there’s definitely a brief window for young Zverev to grab his first taste at #1.
