I'm sad to say that the future Mrs. Lakoste will remain the future Mrs. Lakoste for longer than expected... we're aiming for sometime in 09:)

And no, that is not her in my avatar.

A little humour to warm everyone up:

Women meet while waiting at the Pearly Gates.....

1st woman: Hi! My name is Wanda.

2nd woman: Hi! I'm Sylvia. How'd you die?

1st woman: I froze to death.

    2nd woman: How horrible!

1st woman: It wasn't so bad. After I quit shaking from the cold, I began to get warm & sleepy, and finally died a peaceful death. What about you?

2nd woman: I died of a massive heart attack. I suspected that my husband was cheating, so I came home early to catch him in the act. But instead, I found him all by himself in the den watching TV.

    1st woman: So, what happened?

2nd woman: I was so sure there was another woman there somewhere that I started running all over the house looking. I ran up into the attic and searched, and down into the basement. Then I went through every closet and checked under all the beds. I kept this up until I had looked everywhere, and finally I became so exhausted that I just keeled over with a heart attack and died.

1st woman: Too bad you didn't look in the freezer---we'd both still be alive.

So, there is good news and bad news.

    Good news first, right?

I broke my doubles losing streak last night, winning 6-0, 6-2. Easy match. Singles winning streak is still alive, though almost broken...I had just held for 5-all, still in the first set, when we ran out of time and got kicked off of the court. Heck of a match.

    Now, bad news...

Place of employment is cracking down on 'inappropriate internet usage'. I will no longer be able to post/read during the day, so it looks like I will have to go almost cold turkey! I'll still be around, though, albeit not as much.

    :(

But, but, but...you can always email me through my profile!

Ha! I know...where are their heads?

Effective Monday...so I'll have to post like a madwoman between now and then, right? I'll still check in from home, of course! It is just that I don't seem to spend much time there these days!

Nice! Bartender, I would like a nice, soft pinot noir (Iron Horse if you have it), and would you please 'back the others up' as well? Thanks.

CC: your "strange faces hiding in curious places" reminds me of a twisted little ditty; if you wouldn't mind indulging me for a minute....

One early mid-week afternoon, a married woman and her lover were 'slapping bellies' when suddenly her husband unexpectely comes home for lunch. Hearing the car door slam, she exclaims: "OMG, my it's my husband! Quick hide in the closet!" The man grabs his clothes and hides in the closet--the wife rushes downstairs. Once inside the closet, the man hears the faint voice of a little boy: "It's very dark in here..."

"Who's that?" the man whispers. The voice replies: "I'm Joey....and I'm gonna tell my daddy!" The man excitedly whispers "No! don't do that!!....shhhhh, I'll give you $25.00 to keep quiet!"

"No, I'm gonna tell my daddy!"

    "I'll give you $50.00!!! Please!

    "No"

    "I'll give you $100.00!!! Please don't tell!"

    "OK"

The husband eventually finishes his lunch and returns to work at which point the 'man' beats a hasty retreat out of there.

Days later, while walking by the local bike shop, the kid points at a snazzy-looking model in the window and tells his mom that he wants to buy it. The mother chuckles and explains to him that the bike's way too expensive. The kid tells her: "I've got a hundred bucks; I want that bike!" and he whips out a fistfull-of-dollars. The mother, stunned, asks him: "where did YOU get $100.00?!!" The kid doesn't answer her. The mother, agitated, again asks him: "where, young man, did you get that money?!!" The kid won't budge. The mother grabs the kid by the ear and hauls him down to the local priest, thinking that the good padre will get it out of the little nipper. She explains the situation to the priest who nods, excuses himself from the mother and then brings the boy into the confessional with him. Once inside the confessional, the boy rasps: "It's very dark in here!" whereupon the priest bellows:
"NOW DON'T YOU START THAT CRAP AGAIN!!!"

Ok, I'm sure we have some techie people here who can help me...

Just on my way to go run, and I pick up my iPod shuffle. Find it is completely dead, even though I had it charging on its base...well, every time I'm not using it. Itunes is not recognizing it either. Tried my old iPod mini in the same plug...nothing. Tried them in a different USB plug (the one I have my keyboard into) and nothing. Now, obviously my keyboard is still working!

Any ideas what might be up? Seriously, I can't run without my tunes!!! I will take it into school and plug it into my eMac there, but again, any thoughts would be welcome.

I did just upgrade iTUnes over the weekend, but shouldn't that make things work *better*?!? In theory, of course.

Man, I was panicked for moment...thinking that soon I can't be on the board from work, and if I lose home access too...AAAAACCCCKKKK!!!!!

^^^Ok, interestingly enough, when I tried it in my other USB ports on my computer, nothing happened, but plugged into my USB port on my keyboard, and now it is fine. *shrug* Boy, I hope this doesn't mean my USB ports on my iMac are fried! There's no money for a new computer, or to fix one!!!

The Checket Cup, right? It starts at 35s, or I would be there! ;) Your neighbor Carol told me about it when I was down there...I think she thought I was old enough. I told her I had two more years, and she called me a little b*tch!!! Lol, lovingly, though! I checked it online a few days ago, saw that she is signed up along with a few other names I recognized from December.

Seriously, if you could take a few pics, maybe video some points...that would be great!

Yes, gullible and a worrier! That's me! :) *hugs Drak*

Seriously, what would possess anyone to do something this stupid? I can see the fun and amusement in it lasting maybe a week but we're talking having this permanently etched on your belly for life.

Aww...thanks for thinking of me. *hugs Sup*

Very well thanks Sani. It is very cold up here so I'm just plugging along trying my best to keep happy. Someday the snow will melt and the rain will come - then all will be right with my world again. ;)

    How is this for coincidence!

Today I had to slam the breaks for a squirrel that was crossing the road: It luckily didn’t get hit! About half year ago, right on the same location, down to maybe 5-10 ft. difference, I found a puppy dog that was standing right in the middle of the road, early in the morning in total darkness. I didn't slam on the breaks, but if I didn't notice the small thing I would've ran over it! It wasn’t afraid, and it was just sitting in the middle of the road... and waiting for affection!? After some search efforts and few days later, the owner of the puppy was found.

JMSX521 is my hero...a true animal lover...that makes you a very special person.

Well, the mail just arrived and guess what I got bistro peeps? A call for jury duty:cry: I really don't mind...I think it's interesting and it's good to see the system at work....BUT.....I never get picked to sit on the jury itself. I've had to show up twice before...the first time I was released after lunch and the second time got called to a court room but was released right away. What a total waste of time. Just sit in a very closed in room with a good book and a bottle of water for hours. Probably won't have to report though...I have a high call in number....195. It's not til March 4, so I'll know just after 5 March 3rd if I have to go. So...watch out all of you criminal types....ILC MAY be on the case...or not...maybe

A "hero" and "hugs?" Oh, please! There is nothing special about that; I was just pointing out the coincidence of this happening exactly on the same location! I'd think that everyone's reactions would be to slam on the breaks... right? Is there actually anyone here that doesn't slow down for animals crossing the street?

Here's my dog rescuing story: My friend and I were headed to the tennis courts and we hit for about 10 minutes than it started pouring rain. I was driving back home and noticed a small white long haired dog that resembled a toy poodle in the middle of a busy street, lost. I felt sorry for the little guy.

After passing the dog up I turn my car back around and get out of the car with a towel in the pouring rain and pick him up. I went to the local veteranarian to bring the dog for drop off but they were closed so i took him home. My mom fell in love with him, we gave him a haircut and a bath and took him to the vet...but this time to get his shots. we kept him and named him Harry. My gf at the time called him lightning as it was appropriate since it was a thunderstorm where I rescued him. anyway...we still have him and at first our dogs wasn't sure if he was a dog or a cat and they were curious. we have 2 boston terriers and a boxer, all females. They never hurt harry, just smelled him. They get along just fine now and it would be hard to imagine life w/o harry.

I thought the bistro can use a pic like this as this is what i imagined it to be like: [IMG]

Hey jmsx, i have an old babolat video of carlos moya being interviewed. I actually found it at my local goodwill...(after finding a Wilson Ncode N1 at gw for $5 I periodically make trips there). It was brand new too and from the mid 90s. Something to see. I might post some youtube vids of it or something.

ilovecarlos would be interested in seeing that! If you were looking at my signature comment, I am actually more of a Berasategui fan... and would love to see him how he takes care of Moya 6-1 6-1. Although, yes, post it for all of us to see.

^^^Yes, looks to be most of the female French players...except Bartoli. She doesn't exactly hang with the rest of them, who are all pretty good friends. No Mah-ree, either. Neat picture!

yes. i wonder if they are swingers, lol. mauresmo is laying on natalie dechy's boyfriend. Also, Guy Forget, Tatiana Golovin, Nathalie Dechy (not by her bf, which is weird...i'm pretty sure she's by her coach) and thats all i recognize.

Not for the first time, I spent Super Bowl Sunday on the tennis court. I narrowly held onto my newly acquired doubles winning streak tonight, with a brand new partner, at 6-4, 6-6 (time ran out). It was one of those matches where you wonder how in the heck you won! We were down 1-4 in the first set before reeling off five games in a row, and everyone actually held serve throughout that second set (very rare in women's matches). I would have liked to finish, but we were getting kicked off of the court by another match. Also realized that running five miles, then playing a match later in the day is just not a great idea anymore...I used to be fine with it, but my legs are not happy with me right now.

I have a feeling though, come Tuesday, my 2 month+ singles streak will come to end...I'm playing one of my regular double's partner (nicknamed by some as 'Mashona') in singles. Last time we played, two years ago, she took me down in the 2nd round of a tournament 6-3, 6-2.

I was down once w/my friend joseph (who is about 40 year old fat azn guy) and we played doubles together. Joseph has a weak serve, but good hands around the net but doesnt move well. Anyway, we were down 5-0 and were down match point...well somehow we came back to win 7-5. It was an amazing comeback. Its a great feeling right topaz. :)

btw, if you watch the last 2 minutes of the superbowl you've watched it all. It was an amazing game though.

Cool pic of the French players. A nice fit at a 'bistro', n'est-ce pas?

3rd from left: Severine Bremond. 5th from left (next to Nathalie Dechy) is Loic Courteau, a former player and now a very skilled coach (French Fed Cup team, Mauresmo, Domachowska, and probably some others).

I did actually catch the last 35 seconds! Amazing!!!

Ah, yes, thanks for the help! I knew he looked familiar, but I wasn't certain that he was Dechy's husband or not. It looks, too, as if there were more people, to the right of the pic, that were left off...there's that foot sticking out there.

Hey people!! I have to share this with you. Every time I read it I laugh until I have tears. Enjoy:

A woman goes to her boyfriend's parents' house for Christmas dinner. This is to be her first time meeting the family and she is very nervous. They all sit down and begin eating a fine meal. The woman is beginning to feel a little discomfort, thanks to her nervousness and the broccoli casserole. The gas pains are almost making her eyes water. Left with no other choice, she decides to relieve herself a bit and lets out a dainty fart.

It wasn't loud, but everyone at the table heard the poof. Before she even had a chance to be embarrassed, her boyfriend's father looked over at the dog that had been snoozing under the woman's chair, and said in a rather stern voice, 'Skippy!'.

The woman thought, 'This is great!' and a big smile came across her face. A couple of minutes later, she was beginning to feel the pain again. This time, she didn't even hesitate. She let a much louder and longer rrrrrip.

The father again looked at the dog and yelled, 'Dammit Skippy!' Once again the woman smiled and thought 'Yes!' A few minutes later the woman had to let another rip. This time she didn't even think about it. She let a fart rip that rivaled a train whistle blowing.

Once again, the father looked at the dog with disgust and yelled, 'Dammit Skippy, get away from her, before she craps on you!'

"Hi, you're through to the Incontinence Hotline....Can you hold, please...??

Confucius say: man who fart in church must sit in his own pew.

Why do farts stink? So deaf people can enjoy them also.

Laugh and the world laughs with you; fart and they'll stop laughing....
