    Welcome

Hi, and a big welcome to the Bistro, Costagirl! I'm ILC, nice to meet you. Yes that is Carlos Moya, as in Ilovecarlos =ILC. How wonderful that you get to wowrk with him.

I'm sure that the Bistro regulars will start introducing themselves. See you,ve met Mikey B. Wise not to get between him and a bottle of Stoli. Please do not be aalarmed if you bump into a lemur from time to time. He's usually pretty easy going. If you see a cute little kitten, dressed as a pirate with a little hook on one paw, once again, he belongs here and he won't hurt you especially if you get him a bowl of rum and milk.

Come in any time. The Bistro TV's always have tennis on!

I am glad to see that the Stolichnaya supply has been left untouched. I put a dozen bottles in my Fischer bag and catch a cab to my hotel.

    Zzzzzz.... ZZZzzzz....

    *Suddenly wakes up, looks around*

What's this...? It looks familiar? Tennis? That's a sport - right? Hmm... I... think ... I... know... this.

Summer is supposed to be getting closed. Or spring atleast. In theory. The -10 degrees (C) speaks otherwise. Ah well, the ice hockey season isn't quite over yet anyway!

    *Goes undercover again*

ILC always has the best birthday parties.

The tian d'aubergines avec Stoli Fly Agaric may have been a bad choice for me.

I accidentally exited the bistro through the NYC portal, and things look pretty strange. I should have stuck with the party's officially sanctioned Absolut.

Thanks to everyone for the birthday wishes! Glad you could make it Senti! All the veggie leftovers are yours, just don't let the lemurs see you carry them out!

    Le Lemur

I exit my taxi and notice a new sign at the bistro entrance. "Le Lemur"? I tell the cab driver to wait while I grab my trusty Fischer bag and enter Le Lemur Bistro.

There's a rave inside and the place is packed with lemurs. Glow sticks abound and all the lemurs are dancing. An orgy is transpiring on the ceiling fan. I didn't realize that anyone was still having raves, but the lemurs seem to be having fun.

The lemur explains to me that all the proprietresses are gone, so he is now running a nightclub at the location. Three excited lemur chicks drag him to the dance floor in mid-sentence. I fill my Fischer bag with bottles of Stolichnaya and return home in my cab.

Aren't lemurs native to somewhere in Africa -- like Madagascar ? How have hundreds of them washed up in CC's bistro ?

    Are they eggplantivorous ?

    And... she's back!

    [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

Ice hockey season is over (sort of :) - atleast for a month or two. Time to get back into the tennis saddle for my daughter.

Started off with a tournament that started the same day as she played the last ice hockey match in a week-long big international girls tournament (World Selects Invitational U14) - perhaps not the best preparation for a tennis tournament :)

She lost her singles match 1-6 1-6 (she met a 2 year younger, but very good girl - so it was kind of expected), but... Anyway. She's back! And so am I!

Time for a drink I think. It's going to be some rough weeks ahead - I expect a lot of losses while she gets' back her tennis again...

I enter the Bistro wearing a balaclava, hoping to fill my Fischer bag with bottles of Stolichnaya without the proprietresses recognizing me. The lemur, who is languishly eating mangoes while watching matches from Roland Garros, signals to me that all is clear.

"All the proprietresses are gone," the lemur informs me. I fill my bag with Stolichnaya bottles and then take rum and milk shots with LPV.

The ceiling fan has been gathering dust, with Dedans and ILC canoodling in unknown realms. The lemur, LPV, and I take turns seeing who can fly higher into the furthest wall from the ceiling fan set to hyper-spin.

The incandescent ILC and I went outback on the lawn to watch a submarine race - it was a tie; both finished together, a fantastic and fitting finish.

Proprietresses? .... a Margarita for Master Bulgakov and his lemur friend please..

We're having a tequila party at Le Lemur...err I mean at The Bistro? Woo Hoo! I'm in. Had to use my canoe to get her. We've had so much rain that the surrounding streets of our Bistro were flooded, but I made it. I leave my paddle in the capable paws of LPV, after treating the little fella with a few rum and milk shots. He has that sweet little buzzed look on his face:) I see that Mikey is having his way with a bottle of Stolichnaya at the far end of the bar and slide onto a seat next to him. My Beloved Dedans is making his way over to join us. He just loves the submarine races we were just watching, but we got thirsty, and had to come in. I see that our good friend, "the" lemur has spotted us and is bouncing his way over to join us. It's been so long since we've all been together. He tells us that Peter and his daughters are practicing on the indoor courts and that Senti is there to make it a fun doubles game. Now if only CC would stop in.

Wow, a submarine race yesterday, and now an airship race today. I put a bottle of Stolichnaya on the lawn and watch the airships fly by.

Lured by the aroma of baking eggplant, Senti trots over at the speed of light from a galaxy far far away.

Senti hands his space suit to the butler and looks around. The ceiling fan has been dusted and oiled, the glamorous, amorous Mr and Mrs Penthouse can be seen "circulating" ... in the distance.

What year is it, he asks Mike.

No tears, no fears, no ruined years, no clocks...

I always have trouble figuring out the time and date at the Bistro. There are so many entry and exit portals, the space-time continuum is confusing here, and I have trouble reading the clocks.

While my most Beloved Mr Penthouse sleeps off the effects of a most wonderful party, I enter the Bistro and am amazed that the only remains of our fabulous bash are a solitary streamer hanging from our special ceiling fan. What a party! Submarine races, hot air balloon rides and even a petting zoo! Nice touch, LPV:) I realize I never did do my traditional song, so here goes.

    Happy Birthday to you

    Cheers, Leelord.

After realizing we have put more darts through the Bistro wall than on the board, the lemur, LPV, and I decide that some eggplant parmesan is what we need.

While ILC hasn't been here for some time, LPV has procured her shopping list, and we have found the ingredients: eggplant slices, Mozzarella, Parmesan, basil, and tomato sauce.

We pile everything in a pan, but it doesn't look right. The lemur suggests that we put everything in a blender for a few minutes. LPV then pours the mix into a bowl.

"It probably needs to be cooked," the lemur suggests. I remember that ILC baked it in the oven for at least an hour, so I put the bowl in the microwave oven and set it for an hour.

When it is done, it is very hard and dry. LPV suggests that we need to add boiled water, so the lemur puts water in a big plastic bowl and onto the stove.

After we put out the fires, we decide to go across the street for some falafels.

Happy Birthday wishes go out to our good friend, Sup2dresq! Although he now prefers the barstools of the Bistros in Florida these days, there will always be a seat at our virtual Bistro for him.

The streamers are hung and the courts are ready The lemur has arranged several people that have lined up for the pleasure of hitting with Sup.

I've made a pitcher of Fifi's and we are ready to partay!!!!!

Yes yes Senti, we are ready to roll! I made a triple batch of eggplant since some people (and lemurs) have been without for sometime. Mac and cheese is ready and so is a big vat of zucchini leek soup. Liquor has been ordered and I have already made several pitchers of the summer drink, the Fifi. We are ready to rock and roll. The lemur and LPV have been cleaning up the patio for those that wish to watch outside. Looking forward to seeing the whole "old gang" back at the Bistro for the US Open. Let the games begin!!!!!!

    Blows kisses to Senti xoxoxoxox

Hey, there is the quality ILC mac and cheese, eggplant parmesan, and zucchini leek soup back in the Bistro! I will order all three with a pint of Stolichnaya, please. Also, send a pitcher of Fifi up to the ceiling fan for Dedans.

While my Beloved Dedans is happily spinning away on the ceiling fan, I slip away and occupy the barstool closest to the biggest screen tv in the Bistro. Tapping my foot, looking at my watch....they promised at 7:45, it's past then!!!! Finally, the images of dreadlocks flailing, hips shaking, it's time!!!
It's Lenny Kravitz opening the night session.

Pause, for ILC rocking out to ensue.

What? one song? Oh well, better than nothing I guess.

Serena coming up, then we'll get to see how Roger is playing. I hop back up to the ceiling fan, and we spin way.....

Lenny Kravitz?!!....playing that watered-down Jimi Hendrix-lite, ripped-off riff ("Are You Gonna Go My Way?") with that whiny, petulant "whaaa! voice of his? Kumquat?....Lenny Kravitz?!!....vis-a-vis your sophisticated Zep/Bowie ears? Oil & water my love....oil & water.

Beloved, I beg you.....ignore that petulant posseur, that lightweight charlatan my Beloved. Let us instead spin the night away....round & round and a up & down ....

Consider him ignored my Beloved, the show is over.
:oops:You have learned Kumquat's dirty little secret, a Lenny fan. Sorry to disappoint you but I ask you the following. Would you rather hear Thirty Seconds to Mars every break or a little Lenny? My vote goes to Lenny. Sometimes men do not get this:)

BTW, just noticed that our sweet Leelord has been by to visit. So sorry we missed his birthday. We'll have to add his name to the Bistro birthday wall so we don't miss another one. **Blows a little kiss to Lee**

Hops up to the ceiling fan to spin the afternoon away with canoodling!

All the proprietresses are gone and the ceiling fan is no longer Dedans' place for a lay. Nevertheless, a few cases of Stoli Fly Agaric remain behind the bar. The lemur, LPV, and I put the cases into the trunk of my Zhiguli.

We head to the Bistro City Harbour, share a bottle, and soon see all sorts of boats dancing in the harbour. We jump onto an unmarked ship, at the suggestion of an old Altai shaman friend.

The shaman reassures me that I will soon be in Baltic realms. As we talk, I realize that the ship is leaving port. I look back to the harbour, and the lemur and LPV are waving goodbye. When did they leave the boat? I wave back.

A beautiful woman grabs my hand and takes me to the "Pickled Herring and Stolichnaya" buffet. I feel sad as I look out the window and see the lights of Bistro City fade into the distance.

The lemurs are hungry little critters! Always so appreciative of a hand out or two;)

Hey Senti, those potato things you were talking about with chutney, sound yummy. If they are Senti approved, we must have them at the Bistro. Come join us and we'll have a good recipe trade off. Always looking for good vegetarian dishes. Always looking for a good excuse to see our dearest Senti!

Today, the Bistro flag shall fly at half-mast.

I have just intercepted encrypted reports that Senor Dedans, the handsome Spaniard, was pulled up for speeding. Or perhaps driving without a seat-belt. Or something.

Not sure what exactly since I was away from Bistro duties (Dad had a nasty fall yesterday morning, and I was busy tending to him all day.) I have asked all my contacts in the underworld to find out details but no information has turned up as yet.

O h Senti, so sorry to hear that your father took a tumble. Hope he'll mend quickly.

Am not sure about what happened with Mr Penthouse. Haven't heard as yet.

On another note, I sadly report the passing of my mother. She died peacefully on Tuesday morning. Of course I have quite busy making all of the arrangements. I had caring for her for the last several years and the past 6 months or so had been very difficult. Thankfully she is at peace now.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Have a safe and wonderful time with friends and family.
    Love,
    ILC
