Happy birthday to CC, who is the coolest Canadian mentioned on this forum, much cooler than that over-hyped Bouchard! The lemur and Sentinel are hopeful that ILC brings some of her eggplant parmagiana to the party. I open my Fischer bag and put back a few bottles of Stolichnaya in CC's honour. ILC chases Flavia out of the Bistro, running after her with anti-floozy spray.

I put the Stolichnaya bottles back in my Fischer bag, figuring they will be safer that way. Stringertom is busy playing table tennis with the lemur, so I catch a cab to my hotel.

Again, I'm shunned by our Russian poet laureate! I would gladly have handed the paddle over to Senti or a dizzy Mr Kumquat after chasing him down from the ceiling fan for a chance to get you home safely. I am disappoint!:(

ILC is taking a ride with Dedans on his submarine in the sea, and Sentinel is busy paying bribes for his eggplant smuggling operations. The lemur has turned the Bistro into a casino, and is making a fortune. The lounge televisions are playing tennis, and I have a pint of Stolichnaya and plate of eggplant caviar on dark rye, with pickled dill cucumbers, and am ready to watch tennis.

Peter comes strolling into the bistro with a huge box of left-over Smörgåstårta from the celebration of my... 27:th (*Cough*) birthday yesterday and some Julmust & Vodka to top it off. Free for everyone!!

Yesterday was great! The absolute best birthday present was that my daughter Emma the very same day got a spot on the roster for the Swedish Womens U18 national ice hockey team that travels to Russia tomorrow for a 4-nations tournament (Germany, Sweden, Finland & Russia)! She was at a camp this week with 34 other girls that fought for the 22 spots in that roster - and she got one!)

    Tournament:

(She'll probably play in jersey nr 4 in the tournament though).

Always sending great wishes Peter's way! Congrats for being a great dad and raising 2 super young ladies! Now, pass that bottle of scotch over here. I'll have it with some Mull of Kyntyre "extra mature" cheddar I've found!

Must dust off the cobwebs that have collected on the bar and order an ice-cold Yuengling from @ilovecarlos while I contemplate where all my friends have been since before the Big Bird Day.

@Mike Bulgakov and @Sentinel have shared words with me in between servings of Stoli and eggplant dishes.

I'm thinking of inviting some new friends over for a few cups of Egg Nog and conversation. Maybe @Garhi Shot First and/or @YetAnotherFedFan can drop in for some holiday cheer. I think either of them will appreciate the entertainment on the ceiling fan!:D

Hello @stringertom! I would quite enjoy the conversation with some of my new friends here, thank you. :) I've never been in this thread, though, so I'm a little unsure of the rules.

Not too many rules, which gives The Bistro its positive vibe. For sure, tip your bartender well, she's a great gal! Also, @Mike Bulgakov 's Fischer bag of Stoli bottles works on the honor system...please replenish what you use. Maybe bring a hot plate of your favorite eggplant creation for @Sentinel to nibble on.

    Basically, just have fun!:D

That sounds wonderful! :) I will be sure to bring some tasty homemade goodies to share! And please not to ask what I've sprinkled on top of my creations. It tastes better when you don't know what it is.;)

    Egg Nog is gratefully received!

I am bringing some Spanish goodies, some Cantabrian anchovies, some Cañareal sheeps cheese, some Joselito Jamon and sherry from the Bodegas Sanchez Remate.

I am raising my glass to all your good health for the festivities, not least our special friend and inspiration @sureshs

Garhi dust must be as magical as Tinker Bell's favorite concoction!

I once sprinkled into my breakfast cereal what was left of some Moroccan "investment" purchased upon arriving in Marrakech. It was my last meal before boarding the jet back to the UK. I didn't need the plane to be flying!:p

A limo stops by outside the bistro and out steps Peter with a box full of champagne bottles. He carries them into the bistro and lines them up on the bar. Draws a sable and proceeds to uncork them all in one swift *swoooosh*.

Free for all visitors of the bistro! Gotta celebrate that my daughter Emma got a spot on the Swedish U18 Womens ice hockey team for the U18 Womens World Championships 8-15 January 2016 in St.Cathrines Canada!

Anyone living nearby that place btw? :) (Gotta decide soon if I'm to do a trip over "there")

Nothing to be afraid of. It's all friendly.
But there are some nice lemurs who laze about, and often have a drop with Mike. Or anyone partial to marsupials (are they, I forget!).

Congrats Peter! A proud sports dad that encourages his daughters! Welcome to all you newcomers. Make sure you check out the legend of LPV too! He and the lemur handle security.

Sad news. The Senator has been assassinated> He wanted to come give us his holiday blessings, via a rap or 2, but, alas, it is not to be. Dedans is sulking about this. He so enjoys a little bitt of harmless mischief, as do I. Well, time to hop up to the ceiling fan for a little canoodling.

Very impressive achievement, Peter! The lemur and I roll in kegs of Guld Tuborg for everyone, and a cart of eggplants for Sentinel. What happened to the Senator?

The Senator and Jerome tried to post a lovely holiday poem to us and got an error message. They contacted Dedans and told him that they had received the dreaded permanent B word. I have asked LPV and the lemur to see what can be done.

Semti, when Jerome tried to post the Senator's poem but received an error message telling him that the Senator had been permanently banned. Jerome notified Dedans who shared the info with moi. Now I must go rest and try to recover from my concussion.....ouchie.... blows kisses to all!!!

DP, and ILC, tell us all about senator' bullworth's trials and tribs.
I was hoping to write him in next November. Is this a PR stunt?
Is bullworth trying to top the island of misfit candidates?

@Mike Bulgakov has stated, "Nobody goes to The Bistro anymore, it's too crowded." That show up on the ceiling fan must be the main attraction.

Waves to CC! Waves to everyone else! Long time I know. Yes, yes, yes CC.......getting to see Carlos again is wonderful! He's aging well. The best part? No Floozie anywhere. Yay!!!!!! I upgraded my cable service and finally have the Tennis channel. I got to see the ITPL matches and watched most of his matches. He was on the Singapore Slammers as the "legend". He started poorly, spraying balls everywhere, but soon settled n and won most of his last 4 or 5 matches. Again, no Floozie! I think that's where he and Raonic got to be friendly. Anyway, will now happily be watching Milos. It would be the ultimate if Milos decides to play our Citi Open. Carlos has never played in DC before. How cool would that be? I would again be at all the practice sessions and get my box seat.

Enjoying your new avi Senti. Pups are you. Hope all is well. While I'm here I'll buy a rum and milk for LPV and catch up with him. I don't see the lemur anywhere so I figure he and Mikey are out on another adventure. Happy 2016 everybody!

    Kisses,
    ILC

The lemur and I stumble into the Bistro and wave to CC, ILC, and LPV. I order a pint of Stolichnaya, and the lemur asks if it is true about the Senator.
