Fee, Sobad was not responsible for the thread in question. The original poster's thread starting post was moved but the thread wound up not getting deleted for a moment.

Sobad, if anyone gives you any trouble concerning the racially related thread in question let me know. Apologizes for any inconvenience.

Fee, I do believe I will be cheering Justin on (about the only one I would bypass Moya for). Hope he does great as I'm quite sure he has the talent - hopefully the back is in good form. :p

SFrazeur thanks for getting rid of those posts - I found them to be highly offensive and aggressive, but am very pleased you were online and acted so quickly. Great job!!

SF, I know he wasn't responsible for it, but it made it look like he was and that's why I reported it (just like the one in the Pro section). I realize it was just a delay in deleting, but I was concerned for a minute there. I didn't want him painted with that brush. I'm just glad Ronnie is gone and I hope he doesnt come back. He can take language like that to the unmoderated section of Steve G.

Hey CC. I'm trying to get Friday off so that I can be there for Justin. I hate to think I'm going to miss his first match back after all he's been through.

Well, I hope you can be there. That would be a great boost for his morale to see a friend in the stands rooting him on. Worse case is Saturday, but I'm sure he'll feel your support either way. This is such excellent news - I'm so happy for him as I can understand this has been a long, hard frustrating recovery for him. He is lucky to have a great friend like you who has never waivered in her support of him throughout. That kind of bond is very rare these days and I do hope you can be there on Friday. Have a drink for me to celebrate when he wins. ;)

Do you need any extra bar help on the 17th? It's amateur night, so I'd rather work :)

Voluntarily deleted post because there are minors around... I wish I could remove it from the minds of those who saw it, or the inbox's of those with "subscribe to thread" feature, but I guess it's too late for that...

CC as a Canadian(obviously),i would like to inquire as to whether Bryan Adams is Canadian or not?....because they just played 'Summer of '69' on the radio and called him 'The Groover from Vancouver'.....were they just humouring listeners by making a rhyme?

Nope, they weren't just rhyming. Adams is born and bred west coast. He's one of the famous alumni from here who are very patriotic (unlike Celine Dion). :)

I'm from Manitoba which is essentially the prairies. If you have ever seen the tv show Little House on the Prairie, it is quite similar in terms of open vast areas. We are close in comparison as well to Minnesota, N. Dakota (really all the northern states).
Vancouver is very beautiful as it is coastal but close to the mountains. Within a couple hours drive you have a little bit of everything from rain forests to a desertous region. It is hard to speak of winters without a definite comparison. I've been there in the winter and I find it very mild, but I'm from an area where -30 to -40 can be the norm for long stretches of time with very high winds. Someone from Florida would probably consider it extrememly frigid. It's all relative I suppose. They don't get the heavy snow we receive but do get a lot of rain (a lot) so it is a wet coolness as opposed to a frigid, frostbite type of extreme. If you go there in the winter, you will certainly need warm clothes, but we like to layer here. I can answer any other questions you have as I am glad you are coming out here and would like your experience to be as great as possible!!
I have a sister who lives in Burnaby and I will probably be very close to there by the time you are travelling. :)

For the most part still very summery. Don't quote me on this as that will surely be the year they'll be a giant hailstorm then, but I would say shorts and a t-shirt during the day and jeans and a sweater at night (possibly in October but not September). The leaves will be absolutely beautiful then and the parks will be amazing. I would take clothes for both warm and cool as you just never know being right on the coast. You certainly wouldn't need any sort of winter wear at all. Closer to the time if you'd like, I can give you a rundown of some cool places to check out. If I'm in the area then, I'd be more than happy to show you around. It's hard to say where I'll be two years from now, but I have connections. ;)

Ok cool thanx...im planning to go to New York (2 Weeks: 25th August - 9th Sep roughly)for the US Open 2008,then go to Vancouver for 2 weeks ish(til 23rd September),then come home for like a week then do a sort of European Tour thing visiting spain, germany, italy etc(about 1 months:Whole of October) and then go to New Zealand for about 6 weeks(prbably beginning of November until Christmas). Then I'm going to work for the next 6 months to save money for university. Should be fun because most of the places I'm going to go to will be reasonably warm when i go.

That sounds like an excellent trip - I think more people should try to travel between high school and college (or immediately after college). It puts a fresh perspective and new outlook on everything. IMO.

Oh I agree so much on this!I was so tired for the first year in uni, after spending about 15 hours everyday the previous year in school and private lessons to prepare for the nationals(which are extremely hard mind you) that I spend the first semester more partying and relaxing than actually studying..And after a semester of not studying then it's very hard to come back :/ But we don't have that system here! !@#%$@#$^!!

I've been pretty good actually, I'm trying not to let her get to me ;) It was actually really nice today, mid 50's to low 60's in some areas. I was able to hit some serves in shorts and a t-shirt without freezing my ass off. I'll have a long island.

Sure thing - oh, I so can't wait to experience a nice winter. It will be nice to come and visit and play in the snow and go back home again. Soon!! :)
Good for you - you shouldn't let it bother you. I know it's hard but like I said, I believe if it is meant to be it definately will happen. You played tennis today? I have about two more months to go yet.

Gaaahhh. Work and tennis collided! My supervisor said, 'hey maybe you'll be able to leave about 3 pm on Wednesday after all' then I spoke to Jan-Michael (that was an odd conversation), and then at the end of the day my supe said, 'sorry, we need you here. You can have Friday off.' So, I am driving down to Indian Wells after work. It will be hell, but I don't care because I want to see Justin play his first match back (and it's cheaper than flying anyway).

Then I played tennis tonight, so that was excellent (even though I really suck at tennis these days). :)

Great singing voice ILoveCarlos; the band loved your audition. They want to know what songs you'd like to sing (a "mini-set" of your favs if you will).

As for Carlos ("Charley") Moya's draw, I was going to say aside from Federer in the 3rd round, "beware" of Radek "ugh-mug" Stepanek in the 2nd round as well, but then I remembered that Stepanek is now hooked up with Martina "The 'Human Billboard' Forehead" Hingis--seems that every guy who hooks up with Hingis ends up having his "game" go to pot. Moya in 3; followed then by Roger Christ Superstar (gulp!).

Cool...glad I got the gig :) Can do most of the standard Irish ditties....What do you do with a drunken Sailor.....Wild rover etc.....any other "filler" stuff they want is fine with me.....
Yeah, the human billboard forehead is like the black widow for her boy toys all right.....and who hit Stepanek in the mouth...maybe Hingis is using his mouth as target practice?

What are the odds of having two VCR's die within a week!! What am I going to do with Grey's Anatomy looming around the corner and only one working recorder?
I hope your team wins DS. I haven't heard of that particular brand, but not a worry, I'm sure Fee checked the box on the order form.

In Canada you need to be 18 in Alberta, Manitoba and Quebec and 19 everywhere else. Apparently you need to be 21 in the U.S. (entire country) which really shocked me as I always thought it was 19. No wonder we get tons of people around 18-20 years old who cross the border for nights/weekends of drinking.

Oh yeah, you'll have no worries. I would definately advise that you get a travel I.D. (a piece of photo I.D. other than your Visa) to take around at night. Your driver's license may or may not be accepted depending on the particular establishment - and this way if you lose it or it is stolen there will be no worries. I'm sure you already know all this, but in case you wander into the wrong area at least you're covered. :)

The legal age in the US is 21, but no one follows that, besides, fake IDs are plentiful. LOL
