You have to do these kinds of things if you are a celebrity.

I've always told the haters on this board, if you separate Roger "the tennis player" and his sometimes associated arrogant nature (although he has improved A LOT lately), and look at him from a human being perspective, he seems like a good guy (same with Rafa obviously)!

Great story. Thanks for the link!

Now we know why Federer lost in the 2nd round of Wimbledon this year:

"We talked for about 10-15 minutes (which I was told later he wasn’t supposed to do. He was just supposed to come and say hi and then go to practice but he’s a perfect human being and talked to me for a while!)"

    He didn't get enough practice!

How can you not love Roger Federer? What a sweet thing for him to do. :)

Nothing wrong with it for me. Couldn't care less. At least not the level Federer displays, which is pretty damn mild compared to athletes of other sports. But it's understandable if not everyone likes that trait and more so are turned off by it.

That is a load of cra-.

Ya know, in this case, your obsessional hatred of Federer is a bit much.
However, they say that you become that which you hate.
So there may be hope for you.

Tipsa...dontlikehim, I think you've been proven wrong about Federer's character. Anyway, this is one of many stories about Fed being awesome with the fans.

So let me get this straight, he was only supposed to spend a moment with her, but he end up chatting for fifteen minutes, playing tennis with her, sharing her birthday cake, and showing her around Wimbledon?

There were probably dozens of other cancer sufferers who'd made the same wish as this girl, and all of them were left disappointed because he spent all his time with just her. Deliberately. That's the real reason he did this, people. All those photos of him smiling in that article? He's thinking of all the dying kiddies whose hearts he'd crushed.

    He's a monster, a monster I tells ya!

The face of pure evil. Reading his Big Book Of Being A Monster. I bet it's filled with pictures of dead puppies for him to laugh at.

Lookit the dirty monster slurping at the face of the little girl! Git yore hands off her, you filthy pre-vert!

    Regards,

Roger Federer is an awesome guy. He truly went above and beyond for sure. I'm pretty sure she won't forget meeting him and I hope she is better now.

It is not about Fed. I just said this is a routine matter for celebrities and are arranged by their PR people. The charity people contact the PR people, the pros and cons are weighed, and a decision is made.

Heartwarming story:) By the way, I don't think it's "just" a PR-stunt. I can imagine that successful people who have much more money than they need have the feeling they should give back a little as well. Federer seems like a good guy in general.
Yeah, I think she said she had cancer in 2011/2012

I've had two of my students get wishes granted by the make a wish foundation and it was not like this at all. One got to meet miley cirus and the other met one of the Jonas brothers. They basically met them, got a picture, and tickets to the concert. And it wasn't one on one. This went way beyond a meet and greet. And it does sound like Roger made this happen.

I've never particularly liked Federer but this is really cool. I see him differently now.

    Touching story!!!

    To : all federerhaters.
I know everyone has different personalities and perspectives.
You can hate anybody you don't like.
and you can like anybody you like. That's your free will.
But please comment and take your time on who you like and what you like.
It's your loss if you take your time and concern all the time on who you don't like.
Because it doesn't make you happy and healthy mentally.
Just try to spend your time on players who you like.
    Be smart!!!

A friend of mine by chance sat on a chartered private plane with Fed while he and Mirka were being flown to a Davis Cup location and said he was the most down to earth and cool person he ever met. They talked tennis, parenthood etc.

So anyone that thinks Roger is not genuine can shove a dagger through their eye.

This is why you're a two-star Gold Poster of the Week in spirit (in actual fact, you're only a Gold Star Poster of the Week since one of your stars was revoked for some type of infraction--ah, my memory fails me--but still...).

Nice story. Roger showing class all the way. It doesn't matter if you're supposed to do things like this as celebrity, not all of them do. Obviously, this really made this young woman extremely, extremely happy. Very nice of Roger.
