What are CAP grommets that I hear people talking about, what do they do and how are they used.
they are on prestiges, they wrap around almost the entire head of the racket. i think....
yes, that's right. here's a picture:
that's one of my painted PT 280s with the iPrestige MP CAP grommet set.
How do the PT 280s compare to other prestiges and to wilson pro staffs? I'm not really into headsizes greater than 93 for control reasons, how do you feel about the PT's headsize?
I'm used to hitting with 95/98 headsizes so it's not a big problem for to me to switch between my Tour 10s/Prestiges/PSC 6.1 (if my arm doesn't hurt). if you read up on the people and the pt 280, that's how i feel about the racquet. it's great for baseline exchanges and it's pretty comfortable. it actually hits like a lm prestige mp (which i have as well).
your racket looks awesome!. i would love to paint my rackets like that or with a shiny texture like phillipoussis' but afraid i'll use wrong paint and get the weight wrong.
But if you put CAP grommet on a 280 will you change the equilbre a lot of the 280 ??
touchy, it seems that it's better to paint the racquet less coats and add lead tape b/c that's easier than trying to redo the paint job. i lucked out w/ my setup, but imo the paint, if done right, doesn't add a substantial amount of weight unless you go overboard and paint on 10+ coats.
kryztof, the cap grommets add a little weight and change the balance a little, but imo it changes it for the better to make it a little more balanced.
