She's been a very angry woman on and off court for a long time. Why any man would tolerate that is the question of the decade.

Yes, there was the overdose issue, but leave it to the tennis PTB namely many on-air commentators) to say as little about that as possible, to protect "Jen." Meanwhile, they have no trouble trying to play shrink on other players.

The pressure to maintain the "success" has just been too much. Nobody knows what is "expected" inside of her. From an early age, people have told her she was the best and she was succeeding...she was performing at such a high level. She got to the top and still performed at the top level...she got hurt and the pressure to maintain is just too much. Now she has to deal with people everywhere talking about her and thinking stuff about her. Even when people may not be...I am sure she still feels that pressure that people expect something amazing from her. It's impossible to be "regular"...it really makes life not very fun. And apparently at times not worth living...

Even though I in no way am at her level or understand the pressure she deals with, I can totally understand when you have jackwagons around you who ruin everything by their expectations of what you do. They think that everything you do will be amazing when you just want to be "regular". It makes it where you want to fail or crater at times so people will leave you alone and will quit having any expectations of you or wanting you on their team or pestering, etc. A fresh start...

It's easy to make fun of her, but I really wonder what's the genesis of all of this. Sure, she could simply be a "difficult" person by nature, but based on her continued transgressions, she seems like she has some demons, or is depressed. I hope she can get it together.

Capriati was still 13 years old when she reached the semi finals of 1990 Miami. She was reaching a French Open semi final at 14, Wimbledon and US Open semi finals at 15, and winning Olympic gold at 16. Yet, even bigger success than that had been expected of a young Capriati and she buckled under the pressure of failing to live up to expectations (especially considering how the 2 years older, Monica Seles, was winning virtually everything), and by 17, Capriati was a bit of a wreck, looking for the teenage years that she had never had.

That's bound to do some emotional damage. The difference compared to Seles is that Seles was totally in love in tennis and was dragging her dad out onto the court to hit balls. Capriati just had huge expectations placed on her at a very young age, similar to Agassi. Of course, Capriati did recover eventually, and ended up winning 3 majors when she was in her mid-20s. Ironically, she now seems to be struggling without tennis in her life.

She's obviously looking for something in her life she can't find. Lots of relationship troubles, drug troubles, depression, suicide, etc.

She needs to become a nun. I hope she can find some peace.

"Capriati allegedly hit Brannan's chest with her fists several times before a yoga instructor intervened. Brannan then ran into the men's locker room and called 911."

Would like to see Capriati get back into tennis as a TV commentator. She was as big if not bigger than the Williams sisters in her heyday. An absolute superstar. Like America's daughter.

I'm going to be a Devil's Advocate here. If Agassi was seen beating up Steffi Graf, there would be already 50+ posts here condemning or supporting Agassi... The social judgement of gender roles in this country still sets us as humans back according to progress.

Sure the boyfriend's 'manhood' can be called into question, but NOTHING is funny about abuse; whether it is the man or woman who is the victim.

Oh, so it took a big, bad yoga instructor to pull Jennifer off this man. Then, Brannan ran to escape the wrath of a woman scorned. Smart man #crybabymommasboy
