Gotta put a shout out to a guy I've rooted for...Ross Cunningham.
    Here's the story.

Tulsa, Oklahoma - Tulsa men's tennis senior Ross Cunningham was in an automobile accident on Monday, March 23rd and suffered leg, hip and facial injuries that will end his playing career.

Cunningham, an Edmond, Oklahoma, native, finishes his career with 53-42 singles record and a 77-51 doubles mark. He earned ITA Doubles All-America accolades and All-Conference USA Doubles Team honors as a junior. He also won the 2006 ITA Central Region Doubles Championship with partner Diego Camacho, and that same duo was named the Outstanding Doubles Team of the C-USA Championship during his sophomore season.
Cunningham concluded career with 53-42 singles record

By "end his playing career" do you mean he's just finished playing HS tennis? Or will he never recover from his injuries?

Well, facial injuries don't end your career...
Legs heal... I got over 20 pins in both legs, rebreaks, plates, and wire...
But hips bad, as nylon and titanium hips only last 10 years...
    But bummer...
Most times, injuries keep a player from making it to the top...motocross, roadracing, waterskiiing, skiing, snowboarding....

The conferences referred to suggest he is a college senior at Tulsa, a strong tennis program.
