can you take pictures of the sole as you did for the cb 3.3 to see the wear how quickly it wears?

    thanks!

My shoes are the grey/red ones. The sole color is red on inner part of the forefoot. I've gone all the way through the red and it's grey beneath that.

Has anyone made it on through deeper than the grey undersole?

Based on the photos JD posted, mine are about 40% more worn and I'm contemplating sending them in.

I've got the red ones like you do and I've gone through the red on both feet. I think JD got away with a free pair early because that layer underneath (gray for the red cb 3.3) is definitely not midsole, it's just another layer of rubber. I don't know how much is left before midsole though, but I hit my gray around the ballpark of when JD did and its not the midsole...

Nothing is ever free from Nike.

For every 1 dollar they give me I spend 25.

    Joel,

you said that the 3.3's cured your plantar, was that with an insole? I have used mine in the stock form and felt great until I took my shoe off. I've since inserted my superfeet and the plantar is gone again. I thought I was going to get away with wearing a pair of tennis shoes again without supportive inserts......

I've never been an insert fan after some very bad mishaps with them, my heels got shaved off due to rubbing one day that left me in pain for 2 weeks.

The first pair of CB 3.3 in this thread were awesome.

The second pair were far too narrow.

    Bad Nike QA I guess.

So I'm taking a chance with the V8 and the Converse Jack Purcell's that TW sent me to Playtest.

My Plantar was very much cured those few months I had the CB 3.3. I don't attribute it to the insoles but to a combination of them with the L3 socks.

    The V8 I'm finding are a tad narrow mid-foot.

The Jack Purcell's are pinching my pinky toes on both shoes with thick socks. The Purcell's feel wonderful though, very comfortable shoe.

I finally will now admit the L3 or Nike Elite socks require a half size larger shoe. But, not by much. I've always been afraid to buy larger shoes but I'm going to get over that fear with my next purchase.

Feet are so key to my tennis, people may think our obsession with shoes is vanity, for me its sanity. I gotta find the holy grail shoe. So far, that initial pair of CB 3.3 were it so I was so disappointed with the narrow 2nd pair.

    Sending to Nike is risky.

Shoes can get returned if not worthy of warranty.

    Joel,

Where did you buy your first pair of the 3.3?

Do you think it is safe to get it off TW w/o manufacture defects like yours?

Yes, indeed...........My gray CB 3.3s I worried were too big, I wore L3 Thorlos Thur. night for 2 sets of doubles on Har-Tru and the 3.3s were great. I bought a pair of the black/yellow 3.3s a half size smaller and wear those with normal thickness Nike Dri-fit socks and the black CB 3.3 fit perfectly that way.

JD, I also have Barricade 6 in size 11.5 like my CB 3.3 in gray(they are 11.5, and my black 3.3's are 11), and with thick sox and a slight break in they are great shoes too. I actually think the B6 are more comfy than the 3.3's. You mentioned before that you like the B6 look and had tried them on and thought they were too tight....try going up a half size in the Barricade 6 with your L3's and you may like it a lot.

Yeah, I may give the B6 another shot one day...I live right next door to the Adidas mega store in NYC. I will try on a pair 11 with Elite socks on and see how they feel.

Finally got through to the softer and chewy center yesterday. These lasted me about a month longer than the Cage 2's and about a month less than the CB 2.3's. While the 2.3's "lasted" longer, the problem was the tread was shot so it was like Bambi on ice when playing on har tru ;)

Next up for this pair is a little trip back to TW and a nice warranty exchange for the black/yellow ones.

I'm going back down a half size, these are a bit too roomy IMO.

Sorry my digital camera is out of order :(

You can really feel the sole get "chewy" feeling right before it breaks thru. Mine were the grey/red.

The red sole went down the grey undersole and now I get a peek of the white Midsole. They're still quite playable and i'm trying to sort out my playing schedule for the next month with how long the turnaround is from TW.

My only backup's are my white 1.3's.....yikes: I can't be seen playing in 2 year old shoes....lol.

They're old enough to be old but not old enough like my air max 95's to be classics ;)

Joel, this threas d has actually been very interesting. I have chronic Plantar and its killing me whenever I play and coming into tournament season I cant have it as will have to play 2-3 matches a day at times. I have been using nothing but the 1.3's and 2.3's, did the newer model make that much of a difference in your opinion? Cheers

Buy a pair of the on sale CB 3.3 .5 half size larger.

Buy a pair of Thorlo L3.

    This cured my Murderous Plantar.

I still have Painful Plantar, but not Murderous Plantar.

    agreed- friggin' classic :)

but on a serious note, the Adidas store is a bit disappointing (from a "Oh, that's what they look like in-person" standpoint). They only carry the B6s and the Feathers. Not the Bercudas, or the Barricade Teams.

Mine are finally done :) Can't complain, I got 13 weeks out of them and logged alot of court time in them. In hindsight, the only problem I had was the stiff collar area around the ankle bone and that resolved itself.

I'm going down a half size on my replacment and hope to get the green/white ones.

These def are the GSOAT's for me.

I think Niketown did Joel a favor and replace them as "defective" but I doubt either Nike or Tennis Warehouse would replace them under the six month warranty as they're not burned through to the midsole.

Niketown is a very nice little store.

Always willing to take back anything worn if you don't like it.

In my case the shoes didn't hit the midsole, and those first pics were not the point I returned them. I returned them because they were scary to play on clay with.

That's nice that niketown will do that.

The only thing scarier than bald 3.3's on clay were the bald flat soled 2.3's: wow, they were just useless on clay.

I got my green 3.3's in today....right after I got back from playing. I went down a half size back to a 9.5 from a 10. I like the slightly snugger fit. The 10's were just too roomy but they were still the GSOAT's.

I did my return through TW and they were 3 thumbs up. Really quick on the turnaround: I mailed them Thursday, one week ago and got them today: that includes Friday's no shipping day as well.

    Thanks TW.

so my black and white 3.3s have multiple spots that are through the first layer of rubber and I'm on the second layer of black rubber. Do you think I need to burn through one more layer to get the warranty? This is my first pair of shoes that I can actually use a warranty for so I need all the advice I can get.

I would advise you to go through to the midsole otherwise nike will reject them and you will also be out $10 for shipping
