just wanted to give EVERYONE the heads up that this guy is a major scam artist and nobody should dela with him!

charles has a profile name of nguyenc_07

    his email is nguyenc_07@yahoo.com

we first emailed each other through tennis talk and after a few emails here and there, we agreed on a trade

me living in australia and him living united states, it was always going to be hard

we were meant to trade racquets

i was offering him my pair of kfactor tours + 3 sets of alu power + cash and he was going to trade me his 4 microgel extremes, bag and grommet

i sent him my racquets and he said he sent his and had been 3 weeks and still nothing - after emailing him many times, he would constantly say he had sent the racquets and other loads of crap but he's a lying scumbag

i had a few people try to track down his happenings or where abouts and before i knew it, someone found that he was selling MY RACQUETS (kfactors) on craigslist and also the racquets that were MEANT to be mine (microgel extremes)

i contacted him through email and phone but he is not picking up - something very dodgy happend when i called him up and i asked if he was there and a voice said "no he is not" but it was clearly him and he hung up

since then i have been directed to his message box and he has not been replying

i have his email address, phone number and also address

PLEASE BE CAREFUL WHEN DEALING WITH THIS GUY

below are the racquets that we were meant to trade
the extreme that i was meant to have and the kfactor that was mine but he has made changes to it (restrung it etc)

    http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/spo/749287796.html
    http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/spo/749287755.html

he said he shipped the racquets on the 16th of June, but as you can clearly see - his for sale date on his craiglist ad are in July

if anybody can help me, please do - i have his mobile (408 218 6799) and his address is

    3246 Cortona Dr
    San Jose, CA 95135

whoever can get him to send me my racquets will receive a monetary reward

    What a Scum Bag

I hope someone in CA can help you out with this matter. Your story checks out since in this link (F/S Head Microgel Extreme) he lists them as sold, and as you pointed out above, now he has them listed on Caigslist in CA!

Good Luck - You might want to bump this up in about four hours once everyone in CA is awake and online!

i really hope someone in CA can help me out

Take some Screen Shots of the Craigslist!

You might want to do some screen shots of the Craigslist listings. He might suddenly pull them once he sees you have called him out. I am not in CA but looking at those listings with his email were what convinced me of your story. I can only hope someone will help you!

Can the TW admins do anything about this?

It's really sad for these things to happen! It only takes a very few of these scams to happen before everyone distrusts this type of transactions.

    Hey Topspin Man:
As a person who treasures this forum and does business in this page, I feel for you man. Seems like from the evidence you've presented, i think you've been scammed.
Just did some research for you. Here's something you may want to investigate.

Check out this site. It's a collaborative unit between the FBI and several other federal agencies to crack down on Internet Fraud. Here's the site, you may want to file a complaint from them. Depending on the monteary amount lost, you may have some recourse. Here's the site:

    http://www.ic3.gov/

Keep us posted on what's going on and good luck.

    Report him to: http://www.ic3.gov/

second call her towns police department and file a report.
provide them with all the information you have and fax copies of the Tracking Information to the officer taking the report.
give them her adress, phones and ip if u can get it from a mod here. (use google or 411.com to get her police dept #)

also file a report with the postmaster general (what she did is considered mail fraud and thats a federal offense)
    http://postalinspectors.uspis.gov/

also contact the troll hunters here
    http://www.trollhunters.com/

I got my stuff back, the gentlemen was prosecuted for fraud not only me but several other online members on another forum.

Good luck and it time to get the this going. the longer you wait the more less likely you will not get your stuff back.

I'm in the same area w/ Charles and I will try to track him down for you.
He has a ton of rackets on sale on Craigslist in the Bay Area.
Charles, if you're reading this, do the right thing and ship the rackets man, otherwise, I will post a copy of this all over Craigslist.

His name sounds familar. I think my friend was about to trade racquets with him. When my friend asked him for his address, my friend noticed that he was in the San Jose Area which isn't that far from were my friend lives. My friend asked him if he could go over there and do the trade personally, but then Charles said he found another deal a backed out.

Topspin I flagged all the rackets this dude has in the for sale section as a scammer. It might not update until Monday though when TW approves the posts.

I would notify San Jose PD they have a solid internet crimes unit. The amount of the items constitutes a felony. You have all of his personal information just file a complaint.

    Hi,

Two places that will provide action is USPS and the Internet Fraud Unit of the FBI (or Local Law Enforcement). If it is clear you have been taken, file a claim.

    AznKikz: oh
AznKikz: do you have any wilson kfactor tours?

well it seems that he keeps on pleading his innocence

i honestly dont see what the big deal is on his behalf though

if he honestly claims that he has shipped the racquets to me why does he not contact me at all?

its ironic how the last time i spoke to him on the phone/email was when i asked him to send me his customers number and he said sure.

ever since that, not a word from him at all - no emails, no reply to my phone calls, not even picking up his phone

if he is innocent, why keep on running away from the problem?

furthermore - it has been 1 month since he "allegedly" sent the racquets - still nothing

    how ridiculous

LMAO, this guy is a dick.

Anyways, you guys should know he is reading this thread. Once he put your racquets up on craiglist and this thread pops up, he takes it down, you put that link up to his picture which was up last night, now he's taken it down.

So ya, he's probrably gonna lay low with the racquet business.

what a joke, this is ridiculous

its stupid how he's commited this crime yet still pleads his innocence when he is stacked against the wall

then tries to cover his tracks, not realising that he's been caught out

just plain dumb and stupid if you ask me

ps. dont worry, fluffy beaver, due to some excellent thinking by one of the forum members (flash9), i have taken some print screens and copy and pasted the craigslist ads. into a word doc

i have evidence =) he is a cheater

if we take another closer look at another situation, in this thread

    http://tt.tennis-warehouse.com/showthread.php?t=204116

he says that the racquets have been sold (and at this point, i thought it was in regards to the trade with me) and approx 2 - 3 weeks later, he posts his own microgel extremes on craigslist for sale and ironically, he has a few kfactor tours.

who's kfactor tours, you ask? MINE

if he honestly thinks he has done nothing wrong, why doesnt he prove his ugly face on this forum and say something

    otherwise...no wait...still scum

why don't we have a list of trustworthy people, liek to take the rackets from both parties before mailing them out, or sending pay pal or any of that stuff, i mean there are members on this board that we do trust right? and in return they get like string or a little gas money, sounds fair enough?

Plan A: Everyone in Norcal should just go to his address and kindly ask him to return Topspin's racquets.

Plan B: Go to his address and rough him up until he returns the racquets.

the only annoying thing that comes to mind in this thread is say the pressure has gotten to him and he does send top spin's racquets, but in the end he will most likely never stop doing what he's doing until he actually does pay a consequence.

    take this guy down!

I know you're reading this thread Charles, karma will get you and I hope you pay the consequences.

Lightning always strikes twice, so if charles believes he got away with this he'd better guess again. One day he's going to scam the wrong person and then he'll wish he never scammed at all

that is what i am hoping for as well

for him to one day get scammed and realise how all the people he ripped off felt

as bad as it is, i dont like to wish bad things on people but sometimes bad people get what they deserve

it would be awesome if everybody in socal could go and pay him a visit and just tell him off but i doubt people would do it, nor would he ship them

i just hope one day his guilty conscience gets to him

i hope he never sells anything ever again online, for the sake of honest and trust worthy people

He is playing with fire scamming people online. There are some nasty people out there...one day he might just scam a person that wont think twice about paying him a visit (and we all know what some crazy people will do these days).

He wont get away with this.

I hope you get your rackets.

I recommend everyone use Heatware (http://www.heatware.com/) it is widely used on tech sites such as anandtech, hardforums, etc. but can be used to trade anything.

Also, if you do use heatware, ALWAYS email the email listed on the site to verified that the evaluation is the actual person.

I have shipped and sold high priced items to people by using heatware to look up their references.

It is standard practice at anandtech, that people who do not have heatware ship first, this cuts down on scamming as it discourage scammers (like Charles) to make up a new username and scam members.

If both members are new (no evaluations or very few evaluations) then the members can ask for a third party. This made cost more, but an extra $20 is better than losing a few hundred.
