    This quote
    "why would i help you"
    sounding rude

    is much different than
"Why would I want to contact him on your behalf?
    That's between you two."
which is much more polite. You lose credibility now.

Btw where is the whole email, you leave out what you had to say first.

And I agree with ChuDat, careful with this other user. He was also able to "find" Charles tennis meet up page.

I would be suspicious of new users too. But as anyone can see, all I have done is offered Charles info and the link to SJPD(the local police). I have not may any offers to buy or sell anything so far. The reason why my post is posted here is I originally had interest in Charles's Pro Staff 6.0 but was suspicious of why any one would have so many rackets for sale, not to mention mainly expensive ones.

As for careful trusting the new user, all I have asked so far is for his email. As Topspin will later verify, the email I sent him has nothing in regards to personal deals or sales. I don't see how he's trusting me, beyond giving his email

Did you contact his local authorities yet? I forgot when did you and charles make the deal and when did you ship the racquets? One of my friends baught some stuff overseas(china) during holidays and it took about 2-3 weeks I think. He's on Aim right now, I would ask about your racquets but he just going to say I shipped them and then leave.

I just did but he went away seconds later. I'm sure that he's not slow or that something happened to the racquets on the way to you, because it's been a month now and unless he's a very busy man or on a very long vacation then he should have no excuses at all. Did he ship with ups or usps? usps doesnt give out shipping #'s for international shipping, he should of given you a copy the receipt.

    hey chudat

as far as i know, i have dealt with people shipping stuff through usps and i have always received a tracking number

unfortunately in this case, he did not give it to me

and even now when i ask him to provide me with a tracking number, he still does not reply to my emails

i still have a copy of my receipt that i shipped but i think unfortunately, i will have to lodge a customer feedback sheet/form and declare it as lost and get compensated a measely amount compared to the worth of the racquets

thanks for nothing, charles nguyen you hopeless scam

charles has my house number and also has address

i just rang the people who live at

    3246 Cortona Dr

    San Jose, CA 95135-1180

(the shipping address that i shipped to)

and a girl picked up, saying that she does not play tennis

i think something dodgy is happening and that their household might be in on it, as well because no way does a parcel from australia arrive without anybody realising it

    it's a damn large parcel!

He most likely got the package before anyone at the household knew about it or unless he doesnt live there nor know the people and waited at their address until the delivery person came, acted liked he lived there and took the package

yeah i remember on craigslist, he said that he lived in the evergreen area

    problem is that i dont think he lives at the shipping address of;

    3246 Cortona Dr
    San Jose, CA 95135-1180

    which just makes things harder

i swear the people that live there though are in on it - shifty people

yeah i really hope so too mate

i guess there really isnt much we can do now

i still think that the person who lives at that address is still in on the scam

no way can something that big rock up to your address without realising it and nobody doing anything about it

he must have had help and now, i dont even think his name is charles nguyen nor do i think he still uses that email any more

if anybody sees 3 microgel extremes for sale, look out

also - i wanted to run this past you guys

have a look at some pictures of my kfactors

and then look at these kfactors on sale on the bay - Item number: 200238685399

paying attention to the grip colours? this could be very coincidental but how many kfactor grips could possibly look THAT similiar?

    opinions - thanks guys

Yep - those are your frames

Yes - Those are your kfactors. The chips at the head and side lineup exactly!

Can you notify e@ay that they are stolen property?

Edit - At the bottom of the listing is a REPORT THIS ITEM button!

cheers for the clarrification - the scratches do match up and even the grip colours

whether this person WAS the person who stole my racquets or even the person who harboured or allied with the person who did, they must be held responsible

even the grip colours match! that is how ironic it is

i hope **** deals with them efficiently before the sale ends =(

    yeah i saw that

everything is just so damn sus right now

ben008x sent me an email claiming that "someone" living near by him was selling 3 microgels + other similiar racquets that charles was selling

this story sort of stacks up against the fact that charles said he had 4, and now that we see one of them is on the bay, this "someone" has 3 now, and then we see that one of them is on bay

the problem is - i checked out the person's bay profile and he lives in los angeles, a fair while away from san jose - BUT the kfactors do match my description...

now this could just be one coincidental happening but i dont know - i am not holding my breath

its all too hard and confusing

    yeah.
i talked to him on aim but he seemed really scared.
he claimed that he sent the rackets while i saw his craiglist post.
after confronting him about it he started to ignore my ims and then deleted the posts on craigslist.

i would go confront him, but in the bay from hayward to san jose is far and too much gas.
but if i can ill do as much as i can and try helping more.

Finding Charles info wasn't that difficult. If you google his email or nguyenc_07@yahoo.com or his phone number, you'll find a a few links to him. One of them happens to be that of the tennis meeting. Here's another example, go to myspace and type in his email address and you'll get:

http://www.myspace.com/atakusai (Looks like someone updated their picture today)

But all that aside, it is always good advice to be cautious of strangers.

    P.S.

Those pics on Craigslist LA are of Charles picture. He's either trying to pull a (another) scam or he moved, LA isn't exactly a short drive from SJ

I must admit one of my guilty pleasures is reading bad reference posts like this one. I think this guy may soon be begging to send the frames back to the OP given the absolute public flogging he is taking here. The SJ police, the FBI, Interpol; Chucky is probably on the terror watch list by now.

Sorry to hear the OP was ripped off by some tool but that is the risk one takes trading frames with someone with no references. It was not a good decision to agree to a trade under those terms. This whole episode could have been avoided simply by exercising a little more caution. I've done one trade the whole time I've been on this board (9 years?) and it was with someone with impeccable refs with whom I had done several previous deals so it was very low risk. Seems like most of the problems people encounter are with trades. Party A ships as agreed, Party B doesn't. That's why I don't do trades unless it is with someone with tons of references. Don't do trades or cash deals with people you don't know anything about. And don't do deals with minors.

There is a Charles Nguyen that plays tennis for Fresno City College. Maybe it is the same guy?

Good luck to the Topspin Man but it is certainly an uphill climb to get justice in such a deal.

I got a good idea, we should call
Chuck Norris and tell him about the situation. That will surely get Charles attention and he'll send the racquets in no time.

Tim2, let us know if you do run into him. I hope you find Topspins racquets and make him pay for all the troubles he's caused

The picture surely has the scammer kind of look. Its like he's looking at you and saying 'haha I going to scam you".

    read this Charles,
Heres some word of advice, return the racquets so we all can sleep good and I mean you too. I know that you know that your not going to get away with this, so just do the good think already and just return the racquets, so all this nonsense can go away.

    hey guys

thanks for all the support once again

i contacted the bay and told them of my stolen racquets but they are yet to reply to me

i think dealing with racquets and trading them - how often do we know who to trust? i guess we just put our faith on human kind to not screw us over like charles has to me

i guess even when you buy racquets, when you pay money, how do you know they will ship it to you? it could be all major scams

hey ben00x, what did you mean by this, "Those pics on Craigslist LA are of Charles picture" which pics are you talking about?

can anyone actually verify that charles nguyen IS the guy in the picture?

that is the picture of the guy using nguyenc_07@yahoo.com as his email in the profile. If he put somebody elses pic. in the email then it's another story.
Oh, the LA picture I think means, the picture from SAN Fran Craigslist and the one in LA craigslist selling the racquets are the same.

References, references, references. Once more: references. The odds that someone who has taken the time to build a solid reputation would be willing to throw it away for a few racquets is very low.

And what if you find someone who has racquets you want at a very low price but no refs or bad refs? Walk away. If I've learned anything from TT, it's that there will be more. (Probably being sold by my fickle self!)

I once had someone rip me off on the bay 8-9 years ago. Three days later, he was whining about my tactics and couldn't get me my money back fast enough. Too bad the same tactics wouldn't work today...

The guy in the red shirt is probably someone else since that photo was upped recently to his account. The original photo at the tennis.meetup.com (the grey suit) is going to be him below. This was before he knew people were scouring the internet for his information. His face is much rounder than the person with the red shirt.. The person in the red shirt has a more square jawline and has more puffiness below his eyes.

Also here is the original "intro" at tennis.meetup.com before he changed it.

    thanks for your help guys

    after much research and help

it seems evident that there are a handful of people helping charles scam me

one person being someone called michael lam - who goes to evergreen college

his flyer that posted at the community courts clearly utilise the same pics that charles used on his craigslist and he too is selling the same racquets

seems to me that the world knows charles is a scam and that now he is using his friends names/details to make sales

    Addresses Lineup

The address that The Topspin Man shipped the racquets to in San Jose, and the address in Charles Meetup Page that Princegod found are one and the same. So, at least we can be sure that at one time Charles did live at that address.

For whatever that is worth?

NOTE: I am sure that Charles is monitoring this thread. Since he seems to be reacting to everything that has been posted!
