This sounds like the same user named "prathvinG" whom I dealt with a couple of months ago. He was claiming to be a poor college student pleeding to buy one KBlade Tour as cheaply as he could get it. He sounded rather suspicious and discombobulated on the phone when I talked to him, and I noticed afterwards that he happened to be SELLING Kblades on TW for top$$. I called him out and he hasn't posted under that username since.

His phone number, 408 398 4635, is the same area code. His email address he was using at the time was Prathving@gmail.com. Perhaps this will be of some use if it is the same person.

P.S. this personal information is already posted on this forum in another thread. I merely copy and pasted it. If it gets deleted you can do a search for it.

You know what? I think for safety, we should be able to pay on TW and TW recieves the racquets and then sends it to the buyer and cash to the seller and the same for trades so TW is the middle man for the highest safety

    lmao, yeah right....

TW would be losing money shipping out racquets....

    Are you serious? :?

Why would TW want to involve themselves in this type of drama... and for no compensation??

I'm sure running TW is challenging enough.

i think Topspin Man has given up on this thread. however, I plead to anyone reading this to contact Charles Nguyen's college and tell someone about this. You already have his picture, this thread, his information, the college he's going to, all you need to do is make a call, and his record will be tainted for life. Karma can bite him in the @$$ only if you chose to do so.

Haha... This is the sad future of online transactions between buyer and seller.

Tennis warehouse as an escrow service? What a nightmare.

I just spent over 1 hour and finished reading this whole thread.
As it seems there is no material conclusion of whether the scammers have been caught/punished or not. Does the OP get the rackets back?

    Good eye, Bruno.

How did as you confirm it was him?

    http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/spo/994836471.html

Well known SCAMMER Charlie sounds kind of desperate for cash. Claims to be quitting tennis. Good Riddance, Chuck.

I wonder how many of these rackets are stolen

Also, who takes pics of a racket covered with head tape? Bet it is all scraped up underneath.
    What a jerk.

    Take your pick.

    http://sfbay.craigslist.org/search/spo/sby?query=408+807+7402&minAsk=min&maxAsk=max&neighborhood=

Looks like one of the ads is for the Microgel Extremes he was supposed to send to the OP, Topspin Man.

Hey Trevor, why don't you arrange to trade with Charlie. ;o)

Perhaps, it is Charlie, but Nguyen, for the Vietnamese, is like Smith or Jones for Anglos. And there are about a million Viets in California.

Union City is a bit of a drive from Charles' stomping grounds, San Jose. Probably another Nguyen. Charlies seems to prefer SF Craigslist to fleabay.

    hey guys

    thanks for all the support

for those of you who asked what the outcome was,

    it was simply nothing.

there was nothing that i could do, i contacted police in australia and they said they couldnt really do anything

and through that, i didnt bother to contact the cops in u.s cause i presume they would have done nothing anyway

so basically, i got scammed - and there was nothing that i do

and i guess through this experience, it has left me with a sour taste in my mouth given that a lot of ppl say that i should only trade with people who have good feedback etc - well charles had good feedback

i guess sometimes its luck of the draw - dealing with people you dont know, especially international

and so many times i have wanted to buy stuff from tennis talk but just this experience has rendered me paralyzed

nothing that i can really do

anybody living near him, like to pop him a visit? =P

to sword, no they did not get lost in trasition

after waiting for almost a month and when they didnt come i figured something was up

then a few board members noticed that the extreme's that i was suppose to get, he was still advertising for sale AND also the k90's that were mine!

so all in all, we were suppose to trade and i sent him mine and he did not send me his and he ended up selling my k90's

judging by the amount of k90's he has, he probably still has them and uses it as bait to con other ppl

it also didnt help the fact that he never replied to my emails after that....

yeah that post does look pretty shifty, so for ppl who are considering trading with tennisgeek maybe approach with extreme caution.

man i really hate this sitation

anybody in the states, willing to contact police?

i am quite confident internet fraud would be in higher priority over there then here

    thanks guys

I went with a friend to an EVC class to see new players and Charles asked me for my email to join their new club. I'm not in the club and haven't been back to EVC since. He was on my radar when my friend told me about a guy with 12+ frames and dresses exactly like Nadal but plays very badly. My friend asked him how he got all of his racquets and he replied with his giggling friends, "connections." A week later I started checking out Classified/Reference forums. I laughed at the coincidence that it was the same fat kid I saw at EVC. After finishing the thread, I felt bad for the OP and wanted to do something to get them back but none of my ideas were legal. It's been long enough so that he won't remember me, so I thought I'd share that recent email I got. If there are anyone brave or stupid enough to do something, he carries a Yonex 12 pack and is probably in a cut off shirt.
