After using some polyester strings, I've decided that I should be moving to multifilament until I can take full advantage of poly but I need a slightly cheaper alternative to Wilson NXT. When I tried NXT in a K90 demo, I really liked it and when feeling its surface, it seemed to have a "grippy" type of surface. It wasn't as "slippery" as other strings, does anyone know the exact term for this?

I'm looking for a string is similar to this for under $10. Tecnifibre's E-Matrix 17g looked interesting but I want to get some of your opinions before deciding. Thanks in advance!

Volkl Power Fiber II or Dunlop Max Comfort or Technifibre NRG2.

Another vote to Pro Supex Maxim Touch. Comes out to around $5 a set when buying a reel.

MultiFeel or MultiGut like M2 works.

I've been looking into some of the strings recommended and thanks for the help. Does anyone know if there is an exact term for the way Wilson NXT felt on a K90 demo I had? It wasn't "greasy" or slippery as other strings and at touch, felt like it had good bite on the ball.

When most people think of Wilson's NXT, they think of its comfort or power, in that order. Going down in price already has cost some loss of those (I'm ignoring Tecnifibre's NRG2 too, since it is not in your price range). Placing in addition such emphasis on wanting a textured feel verges on asking for a rather different kind of string.

So I'm going to mention Babolat's Attraction/Attraction Power now, at this point in the discussion.
