Does anyone think there should be a limit on the number of times you can ask the umpire to check a mark on a clay court? Maybe set it up like Hawkeye with three unsuccessful challenges per set. Also, do umpires sometimes refuse to check a mark if a player asks. I can't really remember seeing that happen.

yes umpires can refuse to check the mark if they are sure of the call. with regards to having limits, well they haven't had any limits to checking the marks ever since and it has worked fine so i think we should just leave things as they are. on the other hand, having limits might be the way to speed up the pace especially if nadal and djokovic are playing each other :-D

Cedric Mourier (sp?) refused to check one of Stepanek's marks in MC last week when he was playing Baghdatis. His reason was basically that "it was such a mess by the baseline so he would've never found it anyway".
