I used to hold my racquet at the very bottom of it, with my hand barely s going under it. Is there any particular spot where you should hold the racquet on the forehand. Where to most pros hold the grip with their dominant hand?

The place to hold the racquet is a matter of preference. Some players have the bottom of the handle or butt cap, in the palm of the hand, others have more on the heel of the palm. I like it on the heel as it provides good racquet head control and plenty of power.

It is a matter of control over power. If you like a more power, you would lean to a more "whippier" feeling. But everything has its weakness.
