    Hey Chris/Andy,

I was looking at the Pro Hurricane Tour 17 reviews and I want to give it a try. However, I found it odd that in the description page, it says the recommended tension is 53-62lbs instead of whatever it is on the back of the pack. Both of you say that this string is more firm than most others around, so wouldn't 53-62lbs be pretty jarring or stiff? Or am I missing something here?

I am currently using a Volkl Powerbridge 10 Mid, modified with 3gm of lead at 3&9, and 2gm in the handle. I always string at 55lbs, going back and forth between Black Widow 17 and Razor Code Carbon 17. Any comments/suggestions/comparisons besides my question above?

Thanks. Appreciate the time and effort as always! :)

This is a more firm and control-oriented poly, so you're right, it would play very nicely at lower tensions. I would try it at 53 lbs in your PB 10, since it will be significantly lower-powered than Black Widow and slightly lower-powered than Razor Code.

Great thanks for the info Andy. One last question: Based on your playstyle, how would you rank Black Widow, Razor Code Carbon, Pro Hurricane Tour and Tour Bite (all 17) at mid tension around 55lbs? So which would be No.1, 2, 3, 4?

    Cheers!

    1. Tour Bite
    2. Black Widow
    3. Pro Hurricane Tour
    4. Razor Code

With that said, I like all four, so I don't think you're going to go wrong with any of them. Black Widow would be the softest and most comfortable while PHT and Tour Bite feel the stiffest and least powerful.
