    Hi Chris,

I've played with the Prestige for most of my tennis career. I've found them to be getting lighter in SW every generation. I wanted to put some of the solidness back into the stick without creating a log of wood. I'm curious to know what your set up is with lead and your final resulting SE is.

I originally added 7g to the stick 4.3 to 12 and 2.7 to the handle (cap). The resulting SW was about 330 around where a Rad Pro is. I found the frame a little harsh feeling and a over polarized. I just stripped the lead off of all 3. Right now I'm playing with 2 without lead but left the third unstrung for testing. Any suggestions?

I would have actually reversed the set up. I like to add at least twice the weight to the handle than I do to the tip. No matter what I'm customizing, I usually end up close to 12.6oz with a swingweight right around 325.

I usually start by adding lead to the handle and then place a leather grip over that, add an overgrip, then some counter weight at the tip. You shouldn't need to add much to get the 15 pts needed to push the stock swingweight up from 310 to 325.

It sounds like you made the racquet balance too far towards the head, making it somewhat un-Prestige like. Try flipping the set up on that third stick and let me know how it goes.

Cheers. Given a leather grip adds like 10 more grams to the handle...how much do you put at the tip? or do you do 3 - 9.

I like to add lead at the tip since less is required. It keeps the racquet feeling head light, yet it adds a little mass to help bring the racquet through contact. I like the way lead at the tip helps me drive through the ball a little more.

Thanks Chris I'll add a some lead to the handle (since I LOVE those prince resi-pro grips too much) to make it match a leather in weight. I'll add a few 2 grams to the head. I'll let you know what the result feels like.

Oh have you tried the new HEAD HAWK string. Very nice. Softer then RPM, Nice Pocketing and good tension maintenance. It's take over for me from cyclone...(provided my rep will keep on giving me demo packs!). Give it a try my good man!

This me with the new string in a PC600. Yes I still pull it out of the closet every once in a while!

I have hit Hawk and like the way it plays. Offers a nice blend of power and control and I like the spin I get with it.

Good to see you exercising your PC600. It's always good to get back on the court with one of those!
